Hamilton, Virginia is nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Virginia Piedmont. Known as Virginia's horse country, our area offers visitors a stunning landscape to explore. Washington DC and Baltimore Maryland are both a short drive just to the east. Shenandoah National Park is a short and beautiful drive heading south west. We have three international airports, Dulles (30 minutes drive), Regan (50 minute drive) and Baltimore (75 minutes).
Our lovely home has a spacious open floor plan with both a front porch and rear patio that allows you to fully enjoy our quiet country living either inside or out. With our large 3 acre yard and garden, local parks, nearby cities and quiet community you can relax in the quiet of the country or discover everything you could want during a city visit.
Our home is only a few years old so everything is relatively new. The master bedroom and sitting room has a king size bed and private full bath with both a shower and soaking tub. We also have three smaller bedrooms on the second floor. Two share a full bathroom, while the other has a private bath. Two of these three rooms have double beds while the third has a single with a pull out trundle bed. The basement is finished and includes another bedroom with a double bed and full bath. The house has two zone central air and heat, and all the appliances and electronics you will need. We have four bikes you can use on the bike trail which is just down the street. The trail is about 45 miles long, running from Arlington, Virginia to the east and ending in Purcellville to our west.
We live in a quiet country suburb of Washington DC. While we have all the amenities within a 5 minute drive, you can explore all that our unique area has to offer. If you enjoy hiking we are just minutes from both the W&OD Bike trail and the Appalachian Trail. Are you a civil war buff? Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, Antietam, Bull Run and other major battlefields are all close by. Prefer museums, nightlife or shopping? Some of the worlds best are nearby in Tysons Corner, Washington DC or Baltimore. Antique stores are all around us, especially in Leesburg and Middleburg. There are over 30 wineries in our immediate area with closest less than 5 minutes away.
My wife Alison teaches and I am self employed . Before setling down in Virginia we spent many years overseas.
