More about us

  1. My name is Erin, and my fiance's is Matt. I am an Environmental Specialist, and he is a Forestry Extension Agent. We are looking for an exchange for our honeymoon! Our wedding is September 23, 2006, and are looking for something a few days after that, for a week, or a little longer. We can be somewhat flexible on the honeymoon dates, giving or taking a month on either side, if we find something really good. September/October is definately the best time to visit Virginia. 65-70 degrees, and no rain.

We like mountains and hiking, the beach and ocean. Pretty open to options. We would love to have access to a jacuzzi wherever we exchange, but we're open to all offers.
If you think you have a good honeymooning spot, let us know!

Neighbourhood

Home is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, Rockingham County, VA. We live across the street from the Shenandoah River, which you can swim in, or going tubing down (with cocktails). We are located approx. 5 miles from the Shenandoah National Park, including Appalachian Trail, and the George Washington National Forest. The park affords amazing hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, waterfalls, etc. Also in the park is Skyline Drive, a scenic driving tour of 100+ miles. Massenutten Resort is only a few miles away, and offers skiing/snowboarding/snowtubing in the winter, a waterpark and hiking in the summer. Less than an hour drive to several wineries. Our home is on a working cattle/crop farm.

We are just a couple miles outside of the town of Elkton, and the city of Harrisonburg is an easy 10 mile drive away. Its a college town offering sporting events, and has a large music program providing many enjoyable concerts. Harrisonburg has many restaurants and bars to choose from. Our car provided for your travels. I recommend taking a day or two to travel 2 hours North to Washington DC, to see the monuments.
