About our home

Relax and restore with family in this very large home in a charming small town with walkable 10 minutes to shops and restaurants, and plentiful outdoor recreation within a 30-min. drive.. Expansive LUXURY Suite incl. en-Suite bath w/ floor to ceiling glass door shower and claw foot tub. Adjacent sitting room with 50” Smart TV. BR 2 has a luxurious Queen Sleigh bed. Private Bath with Claw Foot tub/shower is off hall. BR3 ideal for kids w/ Queen bed and shares bath with tub/shower off hall. BR4 has twin bunk beds and shares bath with tub/shower off hall. Full use of equipped kitchen/dining/living room. Also has two 1/2 baths downstairs. Adjacent 2 bedroom guest cottage could also be made available separately for larger group.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We are a 5 minute walk from the center of the historic town of Hillsboro, Ohio. There are the typical and traditional essential shopping and eating venues all located within a 5 minute drive. A lovely Amish/Mennonite community is 15 minutes away with quaint stores and eateries as well as gorgeous scenery. There are several recreational lakes all located within 30 minutes featuring boating/skiing, fishing, and beaches for swimming and sunbathing. Hunters enjoy Trophy Buck pursuits in the area of farmland and wooded acreage surrounding Hillsboro.

Buzzy restaurants
There are chain restaurants such as Bob Evans, Gold Star Chili, McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, and so on but more interesting are unique local one-of-a-kind eateries.
Cool bars
There are a few bar/eateries located nearby. Alley 21 is within a 5-minute walking distance and is quite popular.
Cozy cafés
The local cafe scene includes Main Street Cafe and The Daily Grind. These are within a 10-minute walk.
Retail therapy
Gift, craft, apparel and other boutiques are all within a 10-minute walk.
Bit of culture
History is the centerpiece of the area. The Highland House museum is chocked full of local information and exhibits.
Walks in the park
There is a large city park with walking trails only a 5-minute drive, or 15-minute walk away. Several State Parks are located within a 30-minute drive.

YMCA is located 5-minutes away by car or 15-minutes by walking.
Day tripping
Everything in the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus areas are within a 90-minute drive. Historic and shopping districts, museums, amusement parks, zoos, and so on are abundant.
