“I had a so beautifull stay for two weeks in Susan and Donald's wonderfull home in beautifull Jekyll Island . It was in a natural paradise in Georgia.. From there we could bike to all the beautifull beaches in the island and drive all around like beautifull Savannah, Kennedy Space Center, Saint Simon Island and many outher beutifull places . Susan was so helpful and I enjoyed going to her recommended sights and restaurants. All the communication was easy using “What’s App” messaging. Susan and Donald took excellent care of our home. The exchange was unforgettable and I recommend Susan and Donald, the best hosts and as well as their home in a very special place. The memories I brought with me from jekyll are unique and for this I will always be grateful to Susan and Donald. ”

Where is it?
Jekyll Island is a state park. Only one-third of the Island can be developed, and the rest will be left natural in perpetuity. The Historic District includes winter homes of millionaires who wintered in Jekyll Island from the 1880s to the 1930. The island features many bike trails, kayaking opportunities, 63 holes of golf, many tennis courts, a pickle ball court, a history center, an art museum, miniature golf, a waterpark, restaurants, shops, and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, which is open to the public.
But perhaps the most unique and alluring quality of Jekyll Island is the nature and wildlife that abound in our midst. Sightings of birds, deer and other wildlife are common; one can view gators, turtles and cormorants at Horton Pond regularly. The beautiful, huge live oaks with drapes of Spanish moss give the Island a unique character. The highlight of the Island are its 8 miles of beautiful sandy beaches, including the totally unique Driftwood Beach, with its haunting beauty. This is a photographer's paradise. If you are looking for a place that is yet untouched by development and commerce, you will find it here.
When you travel here, it is most convenient to fly into the Jacksonville, Florida airport which is a one hour drive from our home. St. Simon's Island and Brunswick, Georgia are 20 minutes away by car. From our home it is not far (1.5 hours) to travel to visit the historic city of Savannah, Georgia to the north or Cumberland Island (to see the wild horses), or the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge to the south. Disneyworld is a three and a half hour drive south. See the website jekyllisland.com for information about the many other events and activities you will find on Jekyll Island. Money Magazine named Jekyll Island the "Number One in the "20 Best Places to Go in 2019" (in the US; find the article online). All we're saying is: this is a great place. Come enjoy all Jekyll has to offer.
