About our home

Our beautiful home sits in a quiet cul-de-sac in a safe and secluded neighborhood with a lovely view overlooking the ocean. The main suite has a queen size bed with en-suite bathroom and the second bedroom also contains a queen size bed with a bathroom just next door. Our property provides many tropical fruits including bananas, pineapples, passion fruit, and many more varieties. We have several outdoor seating areas, including a 12x16 pad with table for 6, an outdoor dining area to enjoy an evening drink and BBQ on the grill, and two love seats to watch the sunset. We are located 10 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from downtown Kailua Kona where there is shopping, many restaurants, and local night life.

There is a little grocery store with local produce just minutes from our home for a great variety of fresh fruits and vegetables for a quick dinner and petrol, if needed. Plus, we are located just ten minutes from our favorite beach. Our temperatures every day of the year are between 78 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (23 to 30 degrees Celsius) and at our elevation of 1,500 feet, there is no need for heating or air conditioning in our home because there is always a lovely breeze blowing through the property. At this elevation, it cools down in the evening for comfortable sleeping conditions.

Some of our favorite local activities in the area and around the island include snorkeling (with turtles and dolphins), diving, fishing, hiking, parasailing, dinner cruises, zip-lining, submarine rides, stand-up-paddle boarding, biking, camping, surfing, boogie boarding, golfing, helicopter and airplane tours, kayaking, stargazing, and whale or dolphin watching (specific times of year). All of these activities are detailed in Hawaii, The Big Island Revealed Book which we will have available in our home.

We can also provide a 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4-wheel drive truck, that seats five, to reach the many activities (which is negotiable with simultaneous swaps only that offer a vehicle for us to drive).

In our home, we have a Big screen TV with numerous DVD's to choose from as well as NetFlix. We also have many informational books about the local history, birds, flora, and fauna of Hawaii. Additional amenities include: 80 gallon solar hot water heater, microwave oven, convection oven, full size front-load washer and dryer, clothes line, and filtered water from two sources. We also can provide everything you need for a day at the beach including beach chairs, towels, umbrella, boogie boards, snorkel gear, and coolers.

As stated above, our home is a non-smoking home and not safe or equipped for children under 15. Older, responsible children and adults only.

We are also open to couples coming and staying with us for points. That way we can host you and show off our beautiful island to give you the greatest experience possible. Please note that this is our main residence and thus non-simultaneous swaps are difficult for us unless we already have prior travel arrangements.

*$125.00 cleaning fee will be charged for each house or points swap
