About our home

Delightful guesthouse overlooking the ocean and Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. A great place to view the sunset. This cottage is attached to our home by a breezeway but is a completely private separate structure with a separate entrance. House ammenities include a gourmet barbeque for outdoor grilling, microwave, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and toaster oven. Guests also have use of our infinity pool, body boards, snorkeling, scuba gear, beach coolers towels and chairs. World class snorkeling, diving and beaches within minutes of our home.

More about us

  1. I (Denise) am a flight attendant. My husband (Ken) is a retired university professor and olympic track coach, who now writes books and enjoys gardening as he looks out across the pacific. We have made good use of my pass benefits and have traveled extensively. We look forward to experiencing new people and places through homeforexchange.

Where is it?

We are located 5 minutes above Kailua Kona, and 20 minutes from the airport (KOA). Our property enjoys a 180 degree view of the pacific ocean. Our garden includes Kona coffee, avocados, lemon, pineapple, limes, mangos, bananas, oranges, papaya, and an herb garden for your fresh salads. What you don't find in our yard you can find fresh at our farmers market 5 minutes down the hill. We enjoy the sound of falling water. There is a waterfall and Koi pond at the entrance to the main house and a waterfall into the pool as well as 3 other fountains on the grounds. We sleep to the sound of waterfalls and wake to the sounds of birds.
