Our home is a newer (built 2004) two bedroom/two bath on the West Side of Kauai. There is also a 10' wide covered lanai (deck) which goes around half the house (South and West facing). We live at the end of a long driveway on an acre of land with a distant view of the ocean and surrounding mountains. The house has an open floor plan without a flat ceiling in sight! It feels very airy and open. We have a swingset and large rolling lawn, perfect and safe for kids. There is a "working" vegetable garden which you would be welcome to partake of. We also have fruit trees that are continiously producing, specifically the banana and papaya trees. The neighborhood is quiet and with helpful neighbors. We have a dozen laying hens so there are fresh eggs everyday and two big, friendly dogs. We are located approximately 7 miles from Poipu Beach which has great snorkling and swimming year round. 40 minutes away is Waimea Canyon on the far West Side; Hanalei, located on the North Shore is 1hr. and 15 minutes away.
Quiet and safe with helpful neigbors.
Dan, my husband, Ben , our 5 year old son, and I, Suzie, have lived on Kauai a little over 6 years. We own and run an outpatient physical therapy clinic called Ohana Sports Medicine. You can see our website at ohanasportsmedicine.com if you want to know what we look like! We love the slower pace and warmth of the Garden Isle of Kauai! We don't have any freeways here, only a two lane road that goes around 3/4 of the Island. If you want a laid back and friendly place to vacation this is the place for you! We love the outdoors, hiking, swimming, snorkling and having bon fires and "movie night" with friends and there kids in our backyard. We are hoping to swap homes with someone in snow country, either the Southern or Northern Hemisphere!
