About our home

Renée and Eugène welcome you to our piece of paradise; a mini-resort of your own nestled in the middle of California Wine Country. Our 2000 sq.ft cathedral ceiling, beautifully furnished wooden house with large windows and glass doors, (no curtains) surrounded by old oak trees, lawns, several cactus gardens and an olive grove on 2 acres in the hills of Kenwood, the center of Sonoma Wine Country.

The spacious central living room has 4 separate seating areas, a wood stove and art-filled walls. To one side is a professional kitchen - wolf range, copper pots and an island to work on. On the other side, is a den used as our TV room with a fireplace.

The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with double sinks, a shower and a long tub. It looks out onto the terrace , the 50 ft lap pool and a redwood hot tub. The 2nd bedroom looks out onto a plant-filled patio with a full bath (shower) in the hall next to it.

There is an office in the basement with wifi internet computers.

There are several outside patio areas: in the front, in the back, and one large (400 sq.ft) deck that looks out over planted cactus. Sitting inside or out, we (as you) always feel the peace and quiet of nature that surrounds us.

Separate from the main house is a 500 Sq foot artist’s studio (Renée's), which has 2 huge sliding glass “barn” doors, a complete bathroom, a queen size bed and a gas-fired Vermont casting stove. There is a brick patio between the artist’s studio and a small (90 sq. ft.) writer’s studio (Eugène's). This studio has no plumbing, but a large sliding door and a big picture window that looks out onto the olive grove.

There are 3 fountains in separate patio areas.

The house is off a country road, a neighborhood of individual homes on large acre lots and vineyards. We are only 3 miles from highway 12, which traverses Sonoma Valley, 40 minutes from Napa, an hour to the Pacific, an hour and a half to Berkeley and a hour and a quarter to San Francisco.
