Charming two story rustic home on 1.25 acres. Fantastic views of the West Marin County countryside from wraparound decks and balconies. A large lawn with shade trees surround the house and beyond that is an orchard/vineyard and a barn where wine and beer are made. A hot tub is available for your enjoyment. San Francisco is 45 minutes away via the Golden Gate Bridge, but the nearby beaches, trails and redwood groves of Marin are just as tempting. Mountain Bikes are in the garage for use on the famous trails of Marin. There is also a baskeball court, badminton and croquet sets for your use if desired. The Napa Valley Wine Country is about one hour away. The main house sleeps 4, and the separate guest house can sleep 3. A gas barbeque grill is on the spacious deck. If you are visiting in the summer, there will be lots of fruit and berrys to pick, fresh tomatoes and herbs in the garden and homemade wine and beer in the barn. Nearby tourist attractions include Stinson Beach, Tomales Bay (oysters, kayaking), Pt Reyes National Seashore and Samuel P. Taylor State Park.
Our house is located on a hill with great views of the surrounding hills of the San Geronimo Valley. The nearest town is Fairfax, which is 6 miles to the east, and has lots of nightlife and restaurants. To the west is charming Pt Reyes Station which is known for its organic farm products such as cheese, oysters, produce etc. Great hiking and biking trails are very close by. The house itself is a great place to relax, either on the large couches inside or on the deck outside. The den has a nice HDTV, DVD player and stereo, and the barn has satellite radio.
My wife and I have lived in this area for 25 years. I am the local Veterinarian, and my wife is a retired editor. Our two boys are both away at college, leaving us with more time for travel. Cathy studied abroad in Grenoble, France while in college and speaks passable french.
