About our home

The apartment is quiet, clean and bright. All rooms have big windows with absolutely gorgeous Manhattan views (we live on 28th floor!). We have moved to the US only a few months ago and all the furniture and equipment are just few months old.

The living room has a beautiful sitting area with a huge leather couch, and a dining area. Entertainment includes flat screen TV with surround sound system, DVD player, cable, TIVO, wireless headphones, Wii console with many great games, fast wireless Internet connection throughout the apartment, wireless printer, wireless phones, touch screen universal remote, remotely controlled lighting etc.

We have two bedrooms: 1 with king size bed and 1 with twin bed, both with exclusive "W bed" mattresses. We have an extra Aerobed that can sleep the fourth person. The second bedroom has another flat screen TV with cable and DVD player.

Two bathrooms are equipped with both showers and bathtubs.

The kitchen has granite counter tops and is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, gas stove, microwave, the worlds best espresso machine (Bosch Benvenuto), bread maker, toaster, fondue, All Clad pots and pans, etc.

We have washer and drier in the apartment. We also have Roomba and Scooba robots, that will gladly pick up after you. We also have a quality garment steamer, that will quickly fix up your clothes.

If going to the downstairs gym sounds too hard, you can use our AB lounge and stepper for a bit of exercise in front of the TV ;-)

More about us

  1. We are a family of three. We have lived in many different countries, most recently we have spent 7 years in Switzerland. We love New York, as the city has so much to offer!

Dad: is Danish and works for United Nations Development Programme where he manages UNDP's IT project portfolios.

Mom: is Polish and has an IT background as well. After several years of being a trailing spouse and taking care of the family, mom is about to finish her Masters in IT security and rejoin the work force.

Daughter: is 14 years old and trilingual. She attends Lycee Francaise of New York, as she is fluent in French.

Dog: Savannah is a gorgeous and loving 6 year old female Golden Retriever. She loves playing with other dogs, visiting new places and swimming.

We have traveled around the world and visited (or have lived in) many European countries, as well as Asia and Africa. It is our first time in the US and we would like to explore it.

Ideally we would like to be able to find a place within a driving distance (probably up to 1500 miles) and bring Savannah with us. However we will be open to other options as well.

Where is it?

We live in a high rise (built in 2002) in Long Island City, located on the banks of East River opposite United Nations. Just a short walk away is the Metro that will take you to the heart of Manhattan which is only one stop away. From there you can easily connect to trains going uptown, downtown and west.

The building has many amenities, such as 24-hour concierge, roof-garden with barbecue grills, fully-equipped fitness center, etc. The nice staff will help you with dry cleaning, taxis, restaurant bookings and many other things.

If you bring your dog, there is a great dog run right in the front of the building, and the building offers dog walking services.

After visiting Manhattan, it is always nice to return to our quiet neighborhood with its fresh breeze from the river, Gantry Park and piers, as well as many cozy restaurants and bars. It is not unusual to see film crews and newlyweds using the local scenery as a background.

A special bonus for our summer guests will be New York's absolutely best view of the 4th of July fireworks. Many people gather on the water side to watch them, except you will be able to watch them completely undisturbed from the balcony.
