We offer our charming, sun-filled 1920s bungalow home located one mile from downtown Madison and two blocks from Lake Mendota and the swimming beach. We have one bedroom on the first floor, a fully insulated attic-bedroom upstairs, and a bedroom with a full bathroom in the basement. We also have a sleeping couch in the living room and a futon in the basement.
We live in a downtown urban neighborhood with all the charm of a small town. Our neighbors are friendly and helpful. Madison is the capital of Wisconsin; a small progressive city in a beautiful part of the country, with great quality of life and big-city things to do. We have two friendly cats, and our car and bikes for you to use while you are here. Community and regional assets include the University of Wisconsin, a world-renowned research university; the State Capitol; oustanding arts and cultural organizations, events, and activities within walking distance and beyond; more bike paths than any city in the country; good public transportation; friendly neighbors; fantastic recreational activities in the city and out in the country, just a short drive away.
We are a family of three, mom, dad and 13-year old son. David is a high school journalism teacher, Anne runs a statewide community arts development organization called Arts Wisconsin, and Rafe is a 13-year old seventh grader at O'Keeffe Middle School. We like to explore new and old places, canoe, bike, hike, eat interesting foods, and participate in the arts.
