Beautiful Oceanfront House in Exclusive Neighborhood on Private Road

About our home

COME ANYTIME!... TO BOSTON'S SCENIC NORTH SHORE- TO HISTORIC MARBLEHEAD. IF OUR ENTIRE HOUSE IS NOT AVAILABLE YOU CAN STAY IN OUR PRIVATE GUEST APARTMENT FOR A NON-SIMULTANEOUS SWAP. NO NEED TO COORDINATE VACATIONS. "THE BEST VIEW ON THE ENTIRE EAST COAST!"

DURING VACATIONS we sometimes home exchange our entire three bedroom, three and a half bath house on the water. Other times we offer a stay in our one bedroom, one bath guest apartment. Occasionally it's simultaneous- more often it's non-simultaneous. Either way you get a fantastic oceanfront experience. It depends what and where you have to offer- and your own flexibility. For example, summers are tough for us with visiting friends and relatives. Everyone wants to be by the beach! You may try a long weekend or week in Marblehead in exchange for a future stay at your place. If yours is a vacation property or if you have a similar guest apartment then we can eliminate the need for coordinating vacation schedules. Read more...

ABOUT OUR HOUSE: Architect owner. Our home is spotless with nautical decor. Situated on a rocky bluff overlooking a quiet cove with the open ocean just beyond. this contemporary house is located on Peach's Point- a private dead end road at the very tip of the Marblehead peninsula. Watch everything from kayaks to ocean liners drift past this spectacular view. Rocky cliffs, islands, beaches, light houses, lobster boats, sea gulls, seals, and swans- looks more like the coast of Down East Maine, but it's all right here, less than 20 miles from downtown Boston. Easy access to the city by car or nearby bus. Our three bedroom, three and a half bath house has three levels- two bedrooms on the lower level [each with its own private bathroom], along with a laundry room and a six person hot tub right outside the door. The middle level of the house has the living room, kitchen/dining, and half bath, however the huge deck overlooking the water is the main attraction here. Read more about the third floor below...

TRY THIS OPTION: Our top [third] floor has a private guest suite with it's own locked exterior entrance- locked from the rest of the house as well. A small kitchenette/dining, living area with 60" flat screen TV, full bath [shower], and a spiral stair that leads up to a sleeping loft with king size bed and two twins. A fold out sofa allows a family of five to sleep in this "apartment", along with plenty of privacy. Fantastic views from up here and from every room in the house. Check out the photos! We would be living-and working in the main part of the house during your stay. Sure, you can use the deck and the hot tub downstairs- grab a kayak or a bicycle or just explore Boston and the beautiful North Shore. This option offers us more flexibility with our schedules. It would be a non-simultaneous swap. Come stay for a long weekend or a week- eventually we'll get to your home, vacation cottage, condo, or your own guest suite.

ABOUT OUR TOWN: Marblehead [Birth place of the American Navy] is a sailing / fishing / artist community on a peninsula, twenty miles north of downtown Boston. It's an easy drive into the city or you can catch the bus down the street. Beautiful seascapes all over town, but none finer than the view from our house at the very tip of the peninsula. Our contemporary house is located in an exclusive neighborhood on a private dead end road, overlooking the North Atlantic. The small island you see in the photos is Masachusetts Conservation Land- and can be reached across a sand bar at low tide. Walk the narrow winding streets to the village harbor front with quaint restaurants, shops, and historic sites. Bicycle to nearby Salem, Massachusetts with its Witch History and Peabody Essex Museum. Rockport, Gloucester, and other parts of Cape Anne are a bit farther away- a very scenic drive. The ski slopes of New Hampshire are two hours north, Cape Cod two hours south, and New York City is four and a half hours away.

MAKE US AN INTERESTING OFFER- City? Island? Far away? Close to home? Often we swap for weekends with people nearby. Do you own a seldom used vacation property? Let us know the number of people with you, your desired dates for travel, and something about your place- location, capacity, etc. Come enjoy our oceanfront house- or our guest apartment . We may visit your place this year- maybe next, maybe in five years. Currently we owe people a visit- and we are owed visits- in several continents. Or perhaps you prefer a simultaneous exchange for our entire house. Difficult, but not impossible. We are a very active couple in our 50's [non-smoking, no pets] and have met lots of wonderful new friends while house swapping during previous vacations. As guests, after each exchange visit, we spend an hour or so, cleaning, doing laundry and making bed(s)- leaving your place in "move-in condition" for you or your next guests. Everyone stops and stares at the magnificent view when they arrive here in Marblehead- and they love the guest suite when they unpack upstairs. You can contact any of them for a reference. If you are new to vacation home exchanging, welcome to a whole new world! As with all Home Exchanges, we expect you to treat our property with the same respect and care as we will treat yours.
