About our home

Our house is approximately 140 years old with chestnut trim throughout. Three bedrooms and one bathroom with clawfoot bathtub upstairs. Living room, Dining Room, Kitchen and 1 bathroom with shower downstairs. Office in basement. Detached garage and storage shed with garage door. Fenced backyard. Full front porch and smaller porches on back and side of house. We do have window air conditioning units for comfort and gas heat.

Historical Mercersburg is small town USA with the clock tower on Main Street that chimes with the hour. Walk to the old renovated movie theater on Friday night and stop for an ice cream cone on the town square. Birthplace of James Buchanan, our 15th President, and home of Mercersburg Academy. From our front door walk a block north to the elementary school or a block south to the park. There are hospitals in all four directions. We go swimming at a gorgeous lake with beach and pedal boats only 12 miles from home. Short drive to shop the outlets and drive just over an hour to the nation's capital! We are 6 miles from Whitetail Ski Resort and Golf Course. They also offer fly fishing and mountain biking. Close to Gettysburg and Anteitam. This area is filled with Civil War history. So much to see and do. Be close to it all and far enough away.

My husband, Dan, works for Federal Express. I work as in-home caregiver for the elderly. We have 4 daughters. Kari is 18 and will be going to college in the fall. Kaytie will be 17 next month and is a Jr. in high school. Kellie is 14 and is a freshman. Kristen is 8 and is in the 2nd grade. Kari studied German for 3 years and plans to be an elementary school teacher. Kaytie and Kellie have been taking French. They all love art, music, fashion and the beach.
