Day tripping
The Big Sur Coast, Carmel, Pebble Beach, Carmel Valley Wineries, and Historic Monterey (Cannery Row, Wharf), are all great places to spend the day. The Monterey Peninsula is a very well known and popular destination in California and very desired. It offers world class golf, incredible beaches, fabulous restaurants and shopping, a moderate climate and a cosmopolitan lifestyle, without having to be in a large city. However, if one wants to travel to a larger city, San Francisco is only about 2 hours north of the Peninsula, so a day trip would be very easy to do. Monterey has also a world class aquarium, called the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The Big Sur Coast is exquisite, with fabulous restaurants and incredible scenery. You won't be disappointed with any of these. You are in for a treat!
