“We spend a week in this cosy home september 2009. The house is perfectly situated in the country. Peace and quiet. With beautiful landscape to all directions; Woods, water, hills etc. The atmosphere in this area can be described as beeing in an episode of "the little house on the prairie". As for Larry himself he has been a memorable acquaintance. An extremely hospitable and nice person. We can highly recommend this place for all naturelovers.”

About our home
This apartment feels like a house since it's the entire first floor of a beautifully preserved 1870's family home. Incredible style and character with dark wood trim throughout, 3 fireplaces, stained glass window, French doors, high ceilings, gracious entryway. 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, sunporch, covered front porch. Laundry room with washer/dryer. Off-street parking and fenced garden area.
Quiet family neighborhood, 1 block from town center with train station into Philadelphia, movie theater, market, pharmacy, pub(s), variety store, florist, children's shops, french bakery, gift shops, hardware store - everything you could want. This suburban town was studied by a team of Japanese urban planners as a perfect example of ideal design: everything walking distance, a real small-town community with shared events, yet 15 minutes from the opportunities of Philadelphia. Also, Philaelphia is approximately 1.5 hours to New York City by train.
I am a paralegal professional with an art history background. My children are grown and only visit occasionally. I will be participating in the exchange with a close female friend whom I've known since high school. I can understand some French and Spanish, but look forward to becoming fluent in both languages. My oldest son is fluent in French. I love an intimate-feeling town which is close enough to the city for cultural events.
