About our home

Manhattan Duplex only steps to the Central Park and all the world famous museums on Museum Mile including Metropolitan Museum and The Guggenhiem. Fabulous world class restaurants and Madison ave shopping right on your door step. Our apt is pre war style, with chic clean modern decor. Two story, with living room, dining room, study, kitchen, guest loo downstairs and two bedrooms and 1 full bathroom upstairs.
The master bedroom (king size bed) has a view of the townhouse gardens below. The second is a larger room (queen bed) with great light.
We are on the 6-subway line which means there is direct access to Midtown, Union Square, Greenwich Village and Soho as well as downtown (wall st). There is an outdoor deck of the back via the dinning room/fire exit.
Computer with high speed DSL access.
TV, with VCR/DVD/cable.
Washer/Dryer
We have a house cleaning service available on call.
Citarella, Eli's, Butterfields - all the best gormet food stores are within a 5 minute walk.
Starbucks is downstairs!
Our home would be comfortable for a family of 4 or 2 couples.

This neighbourhood is the epitome of high society way of life associated with the big apple. Well kept buildings, dog walkers and well clothed fashionistas pushing baby carriages adorn the streets. But like all NY neighbourhoods, this one is diverse and plenty of local residents live modestly. A fitting place to begin your exploration of the UES is the infamous shrine to conspicuous consumption, Bloomingdales at 59th and Lexington ave and 3rd ave. Serious shoppers can get a lot accomplished here while others may have more fun watching. Cross over to Park ave and enjoy the lighted pine trees in December, paid for by the residents on Park avenue. Stroll up fifth ave having tea at the famous Pierre hotel and then enjoy visiting the endless musuems along Fifth Ave, The Met, Guggehiem etc or take in the spectacular town houses between the avenues reminiscent of another way of life. Central Park has an endless array of entertainment and relaxation, to be enjoyed as you please, be it listening to the philharmonic orchestra, watching a shakespeare play, picinicing or exercising. If I can be so bold as to say you really are at the center of the universe with everything at your finger tips! Whats more there are several high end grocery stores just steps from your front door, Citerella, Elis, Butterfields.

We are both South Africans, been living in NYC for 10 years. Deborah owns a company called Roar Africa - specializing in custom hugh end travel to Southern Africa and Rob is the COO of a technology company. We are very active (running, swimming, diving, skiing, biking, kayaking, hiking) and are open to any exchange offers. We love to travel and do manu trips each year all over the world.
Our exchange party would be two adults, but depending on your home, we may ask if another couple could join us. We are very experienced exchangers and can provide references from people who have stayed in our home and in whose homes we have stayed. We would take care of your home as if it were our own.
