Our home is a fifth floor apartment in a pre-war elevator building that is kept in excellent condition. The apartment has a view of the magnificent Hudson River with a terraced rooftop garden that is accessible. The one bedroom has a sleep number bed which allows you to adjust your side of the bed to the firmness level you desire. There is an AC in the livingroom and window fan in the bedroom. While it can get hot, river breezes help keep the temperature comfy. Hardwood floors throughout except for ceramic in bathroom and kitchen. All appliances and furnishings are in excellent condition and we will only entrust our home to people with outstanding character and financial references. Board approval needed along with deposit etc.
We are located two blocks from a subway line, 10 blocks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Midieval Collection housed in The Cloisters and the George Washington Suspension Bridge which leads to the Pallisades park just across the river in New Jersey. There is a bike path that runs from 3 blocks away in the Riverside Park all the way south along the island to Battery Park (near the site of the WTC). There are bike shops nearby if you want to rent a bike - usually only $15 for the entire day! There are many cute cafes nearby and it's a great place to come home to after a day out in the city.
I'm a filmmaker and my companion is an architectural metal worker and photographer. We just need a place to go in order to get away from the intensity of the city. We like charming small towns next to awesome natural beauty, retreat like settings, quiet. We are non-smokers and seek to exchange with the same. We also don't do drugs and only drink socially. I'm a vegetarian, he's not, but we both love to cook and would enjoy being some place where we can do that as well as try food locally. Our neighborhood has some nice enough grocery stores but as you can imagine, NYC has great food from every cuisine in the world!
