About our home

Experience legendary Harlem from my 700sq.ft. (65m2) apartment that's also only 13 minutes by subway from Times Square. Quiet and light, facing south on the spacious, private courtyard, the apartment -- 2nd floor (French 3rd) -- offers a well-equipped kitchen (gas stove, 2 ovens, cookbooks) and all amenities. If you work from home, you'll enjoy a built-in desk in each room, wifi and laser printer, free local and U.S. long distance phone. And in good weather, you also can write or read in the courtyard with your choice of shade or sun. *Please exchange for at least 2 months... 3? 4? 5? 6?....

More about us

  1. I'm a senior female writer and an enthusiastic, experienced exchanger, respectful of your home as if it were my own. I almost always travel alone. My affectionate Maine Coon cat stays home in NYC, but I order her food as needed. All you do is keep her fed and pet her as often as you can.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

My recently renovated Harlem enclave has a supermarket next door... a small gym in the building, free for you... free public swimming pool and a park within a 2min. walk, or walk to another park in less than 10 minutes. Close-by eateries include standard Chinese and pizza, Starbucks and a more interesting coffee shop as well as soul food, and of course, burgers. Discover varied and sophisticated dining not far south. For shopping American-style, the mall (centre commercial) is just a short hike east (or take the bus) over the 145th St. Bridge.... From there, keep going north less than one mile to watch a baseball game at Yankee Stadium! More about Harlem: http://frenchmorning.com/ny/2011/08/17/heureux-comme-un-francais-a-harlem/
