Our comfortable one bedroom apartment is located on the 4th floor of a beautiful pre-war building in the mid-50s of the west side of Manhattan. We have high ceilings with elegant wall moldings and lots of natural sunlight in the bedroom, which faces a tree lined street. The living room photos are a bit outdated as I have upgraded the dining set with something nicer and more comfortable. Some features and amenities of the building include: 24/7 doorman, elevator, free bike storage, and laundry facilities [basement level].
We have a queen sized bed with matching mirrored night stands on both sides. The room also has a floor mirror, loveseat, ottoman, and dresser/bureau.
Comfortable couch and coffee table/ottoman that can also be used as additional seating. 32" inch Samsung LCD television, no cable, but we have NetFlix and WiFi internet. There is a bar space with 3 stools between the kitchen and the living/dining room so it is perfect for entertaining. Dining table is a triangle shape and has two benches that can sit 6 people max, 5 comfortably.
Equipped with a gas stove, refridgerator, french press for coffee, pots + pans, utensils, dinnerware, microwave, and plenty of counterspace, etc. My husband and I cook together in this kitchen so there is plenty of room for two people.
We have 2 large closets in the living room and in the hallway to the bedroom [opposite the bathroom]. There is also the dresser/bureau in the bedroom.
We are four blocks away from Central Park and close [but far away enough] to the touristy areas of Time Square and Theater District. We spend a lot of time in Central Park either running, biking, reading, or picnicking with friends. There are four major groceries/markets (Whole Foods at Time Warner Building in Columbus Circle, Westerly Natural Market, Gristedes, and Associated) closeby as well as endless choices of restaurants if you want to dine out. It's also very easy to venture out to explore other neighborhoods of Manhattan... subways and buses are walking distance and easily accessible.
