We live in a sunny apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, in a renovated pre-war, doorman building overlooking Riverside Park. Our apartment is comfortably furnished with high ceilings and river views from every window. It is a friendly building with over one hundred apartments, and round-the-clock doormen. Our apartment has an eat-in kitchen with a computer workstation, a large master bedroom with a king-size bed, entertainment center and recliner, a comfortable living room with a sleep sofa, TV and stereo system, a bathroom with large old-fashioned tub and shower, and a smaller bedroom with a desk, computer and twin size bed. We are looking to stay in Barcelona from Sept. 9th through September 16th.
We are right across the street from Riverside Park, which has a beautiful esplanade, paths along the Hudson River, clay tennis courts, flower gardens, bike paths and a boathouse and café. We are two to three blocks from buses and subways that can easily take you to Times Square, Macy’s, Soho, Greenwich Village, and Brooklyn. We are near Lincoln Center, the Museum of Natural History, Central Park, great museums (the Metropolitan Museum, Guggenheim, and Museum of Modern Art), reasonably priced (and fancy) restaurants, and wonderful shops for fresh fruits and vegetables, fish or meat and baked goods. Our neighborhood is also well-traveled in the evenings and has movie theatres, concerts, bars, bookstores and cafes nearby.
We are urban, down-to-earth professional people who love to travel and meet new people. Geri has her own consulting company and Alex is recently retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. We enjoy walking around the city, museums, concerts, movies, hiking and good food. We are neat, organized and invite you to feel completely at home in our apartment. On our trip to Barcelona in Sept. we will be traveling with our son, a well-mannered college senior.
