About our home

Beautiful 1 bedroom apartment in the Astoria, Queens neighborhood of New York City.

The Apartment:
Two-story walk-up in a beautifully renovated older building
Hardwood floors
Seperate but open, pass-through kitchen
Large by NYC standards, great for a couple or 2 people.
3 large windows in the living area, 1 in the bedroom
Large HDTV with HBO in the living area
Electric piano
The neighbors are pretty quiet - they play music almost every night, but it's not obtrusive and they always have it off by 11pm even on weekends
Superintendent lives in the building - always accessible in an emergency

The Area:
Astoria is the most diverse neighborhood in NYC. It is primarily Greek and Hispanic (excellent Greek and Latin food!). Everyone is very friendly - lots of NYC families choose to raise their children here because it is so safe and there is so much to do. It has a suburban feel, even though it's in the city.
-Apt is around the corner from Steinway St. - GAP, Benneton, Starbucks, Express, various spas and salons, boutiques, sports wear.
-3 blocks to the Subway - R,V lines 3 stops to midtown Manhattan (10 mins), G line to Brooklyn (Williamsburg for concerts and shopping, BoCoCa neighborhood)
-Around the corner from Broadway's shopping and cafes, and 1.5 blocks from 30th Ave's bars and restaurants.
-Walking distance from Astoria Park and Astoria Pool

There are various websites about Astoria and its proximity to Manhattan. Please google it.

I'm a 24 year old legal secretary looking to go to Dublin sometime either in the summer or around Christmas. I'd like to stay somewhere in the city centre or Rathmines.
