About our home

Our picturesque home is an original gem of Oakland. We have spent much of our time polishing it to its initial beauty while adding a modern twist. Our renovated kitchen has beautiful granite counters and is equipped with contemporary stainless steel appliances. Being artisans, our paintings adorn many of our walls to add vivacity and vigor to our home. Feel free to lounge in our living room and play our console piano. There are three bedrooms suitable for guests of all ages. The upstairs bathroom has 3 rooms, a separate shower and bath, toilet, and two sinks. It is perfect for large families or for those who like to hoard the mirror. There are two offices each equipped with a computer, internet access and color printer. There is a fax machine and a scanner to make our home offices very convenient. Our backyard has two separate patios which both receive an abundant amount of sunlight throughout the day. Our home is located in the prime of Oakland and is excellent as the base for your adventures. Take a 15 minute drive, or the beautiful ferry ride, into downtown San Francisco or drive to Napa for a day of wine tasting. Wherever your adventures may lead you, may our home be a welcome sight after a day of exploration.

More about us

  1. I am a Structural Engineer with my own company. I have a spontaneous wanderlust and a passion for the arts, both of which my children have inherited. We have travelled to Peru, Western Europe, Canada, with individual trips to Iceland and Belize.

I am running the marathon in Florence in November to support the AIDS Foundation of San Francisco. We will travel as a family and celebrate our Thanksgiving in a most meaningful way this year.

We love our home for its access to both the urban energy and nature's freedom. We take advantage of our location to go skiing at Lake Tahoe, biking along the bay trails, hiking in the mountain trails (a continuous trail around the entire bay is almost finished). We also attend the live theater, ballet, opera and symphony in San Francisco but relish our famous art deco theater, Paramount, for its intimate concerts and old movies. The Paramount hosts artists such as Al Green, Elvis Costello and Nora Jones.

In our travels, we seek the same breadth of exposure to the country's culture and environment. We are curious, social people with a desire to take care of that which we have personally grown to know.

Every Saturday morning there is a farmers market located right down the street from our home. Simply take a stroll down Lakeshore ave. and grab a cup of Peet's coffee and a delicious Arizmendi pastry along the way.
At night you have a wide selection of restaurants to choose from. There are local restaurants that have been in the infamous Zagat Survey. Whether you prefer the exotic Japanese cuisine at Mijori, or the artistic Mediterranean food display at Mezze' there are plenty choices to find a restaurant fit for you. There is a raging nightlife at the new bar Easy, and Lucky or take it easy at the famous art deco movie theater, Grand Lake.
For daytime activities feel free to walk down to Lake Merrit or visit the Oakland Museum of California to learn about the art, history, geology and much more about California.
