We love our 1913 Craftsman Bungalow style home, which we've thoughtfully upgraded with all the modern conveniences, but retained the charm and period details. Recently, we added a master bedroom and bathroom, plus a guest bedroom/office, expanding the home to approximately 1,525 square feet. In addition to the 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, and two bathrooms, we have a playroom/office and a sunroom/entryway, so there are many spaces to enjoy depending on your mood. Both the kitchen and master bedroom open to the redesigned and landscaped back yard, with patio (with table, chairs, BBQ grill). The kitchen is large and also recently remodeled, and includes a "breakfast nook," which is where we eat most meals, rather than the dining room. There is a small laundry room / pantry adjoining the kitchen. The entire house is very tastefully decorated. We keep it clean and free of clutter, of course.
Our home is very centrally located in the San Francisco Bay Area, only 10 minutes to Berkeley and 20 minutes to San Francisco, either by car or public transit (bus or BART train). It is in a quiet neighborhood at the end of Piedmont Avenue, a charming street with many nice restaurants, shops, theatres, and conveniences -- all within walking distance. It sits at the base of the Piedmont hills, a very high end residential area. Just behind the house is a large cemetary, which is a favorite park-like setting to which many people come to take walks, jogs, and bike rides.
