About our home

We have a charming 1 bed/1bath cottage behind our primary residence in downtown Orlando. It is roughly 500 square feet of living space with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and living area with a kitchenette. Refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, but no stove. Full cable television access and wifi internet connection are included. The cottage also comes with use of our small, private plunge pool (10'x20'x5' deep).

We live in the downtown historic area known as Colonialtown South with a Wine Bar/Restaurant located just three doors down. We are also less than a 10 minute walk to the Thorton Park district with bars, restaurants and shops and a fifteen minute walk to the main downtown district around Lake Eola and the major Orlando nightlife. Great live music, etc. There is a great Publix supermarket roughly 1/2 mile away.

Downtown Orlando is a beautiful walking city with large grand oak trees and draping Spanish moss. The streets are bricked and the area is extremely safe for walking around at all hours. It is not, however, anything like Disney World. We are located roughly a 30 minute drive away from Disney and all of the attractions. If you are looking to visit the attractions, you should plan on renting a car. Otherwise the rickshas and taxis will be more than sufficient to get you anywhere you need to go.

My wife and I occupy the main house. The guest cottage stays empty for most of the year, except when family and friends come to visit. We spend most of our free weekends either boating over at the coast in the New Smyrna Beach area or sitting poolside listening to music.
