Our home is very comfortable and well-appointed in Palo Alto, California. It sleeps 7 easily and could accommodate more. The home has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths, a kitchen/family room area, as well as a living room and dining room. We also have a converted garage that has become the "hang out" area for many teenage boys - game system, DVD, large screen TV. We have a lovely yard, live a short walk to a beautiful park, and we are a short bike ride away from Stanford University as well as public transportation with easy access to San Francisco. Our location offers easy access to Monterey/Carmel, Yosemite, Napa and Sonoma wineries and other Northern California destinations. This is a wonderful family house and we are very kid-friendly. A well behaved dog would be welcome.
Our family of 4, including two teenage boys ages 18 and 15, is looking for an exchange for an apartment or house in Paris. Our dates are limited to the end of July through August 10, 2012. We would like something centrally located although are not tied to a particular arrondissemente. We need something that comfortably sleeps 4 with a minimum of 1 bathroom, preferably 2.
We live in the Barron Park neighborhood of Palo Alto. It is a beautiful area - very quiet with two beautiful parks nearby. It is a very walkable neighborhood with many people enjoying the beautiful California weather. We are surrounded by lots of trees and our yard is a lovely place to relax in the hammock or enjoy a glass of wine on the patio. We are a short walk to a bus line, and a very easy bike ride to Stanford University or the train line that runs north to San Francisco or south to San Jose (Caltrain). Downtown Palo Alto is a nice, small business district with great restaurants, shops, etc. We are in the heart of Silicon Valley so this is a very desirable location. The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, lived down the block from our house when he first moved to Palo Alto!
We are a family of 4. Amy (mom) works at Stanford University in the School of Earth Sciences. Wynn (dad) is the Communications Director for a non-profit in San Francisco. Our two sons, Ethan (18) and Brian (15) attend the local high school. Ethan is graduating in June and this trip to France is our last family adventure before he heads to college. We also have a lovely dog named Tessa who we will miss terribly when we are traveling, but she will have her own adventure staying with friends while we are gone!
Both Ethan and Amy speak a little French and the whole family loves French culture, food, art, etc. Wynn and Amy traveled extensively in France before kids and are looking forward to going back.
