“SUCH a cute house, in an amazing location - the photos don't do it justice at all”
Tara's reviewsAs a host (15)
“We stayed for three nights in Tara's place and it was perfect, everything from food, entertainment and attractions was within walking distance! The apartment was very comfortable, we definitely felt at home. Many thanks to Tara for making our stay as pleasant as possible.”
“ Cosy one bedroom apartment in a great location. Loved the neighbourhood with its varied restaurants and bars. Great transport links and Tara was a wonderful communicator especially with regards the heating which unfortunately was not quite working properly. However this certainly did not detract from our enjoyment as we had a wonderful time. ”
“Tara's apartment is located in a fun area and very accessible from anywhere in DC. The apartment itelf is well apointed and apleasure to be in. ”
“The property is located in a great part of town, with lots of restaurants and bars. When I arranged the swap, I had been hoping to get something closer to the Capital Hill area, but in in sight this location was much better. Everything is close in Washington and this area has a great vibe. Tara was a perfect host, and great at responding quickly.”
“Tara was a great host, and made sure we were comfortable upon check in. The unit was just perfect for two people and very nicely decorated and homey. The location was excellent and we were able to fit a lot of touring into the short four days we were there. If you want a great LHS experience, this is the place.”
“Tara was a pleasure to deal with - always so prompt and helpful. Her loft apartment is modern, spacious and beautifully presented. It was a haven to come home to each night after long days exploring all the sights Washington D.C. has to offer. Thank you, Tara.”
“Very good apartment in a good location. Restaurants close by and a supermarket across the street. Walked everywhere. Tara must hold the world record for fast responses! ”
“Tara's apartment was so wonderful we have chosen to be repeat visitors!”
“Tara's well maintained 5 year-old apartment is an excellent location from which to explore the many amazing, free attractions of Washington DC! We repeatedly walked to the free Smithsonian Zoological Park where we saw some of the hundreds of different species...Of course, we also packed in the Portrait Gallery and numerous other Smithsonian experiences... Tara provided luxury towels and linens and her extremely well resourced gourmet kitchen was a cook's delight! A good value, fine supermarket is just across the road. Tara proved a perfectly helpful, gracious host who was quickly responsive to emails. Over our two stays in her apartment we estimate she has saved us at least $14,ooo. in hotel costs, whilst providing us with a superior accommodation experience. We thank Tara for giving us this unforgettably wonderful experience. ”
“Communication with Tara was great prior and during our stay! Her apartment is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with all mod cons. We LOVED the location, walking distance to wonderful eateries, grocery stores and public transit. Thank you Tara!”
“Tara's place is very bright and beautiful, and we felt home in DC for three days. She left very detailed instructions and took care of lots of little details to make us really comfortable. The location is really good, too. We highly recommend the place. ”
“This home is located in a new building in an interesting part of DC within walking distance to the Metro. But, you can find plenty of clubs and restaurants in the neighborhood. We enjoyed Busboys and Poets so much that we ate there twice. It was easy to take the Metro to the Mall and other points of interest. Young people would especially enjoy the loft atmosphere. ”
“Tara's home is lovely. First of all, it was really nice to have parking right in front of the building. In DC. And the building was secure - you have to use a key fob to first get into the building and then again to use the elevator (plus a key to the apartment of course). It was only four blocks from the U St Metro, which will take you all the way to the Smithsonian Metro (and beyond of course - I'm assuming that mostly tourists will read this). And of course if you want to go to other parts of the city, you can transfer, which we did at Metro Center and L'Enfant Plaza. The bed was comfortable - loft style, up some wonderful stairs. One whole wall was glass (with pull down shades). Our granddaughter slept on the sofa/futon in the living room (we were there to tour college campuses). A really good food market across the street (and not a busy street). Tara recommended several very close restaurants and we tried a couple of them (we especially liked Busboys And Poets). Her kitchen was well stocked and it was so nice not to have to eat every meal out - especially breakfast. We would get up early, eat our fruit and cereal and hit the ground running and then pick up something (like a pizza) to take home for supper. A nice place. Just like the photos. ”
“I really enjoyed my time at Tara's apartment! The location is absolutely incredible, walk to wherever you need to go! Very comfortable bed with nice curtains to block the sun. Super tall ceilings, nice, clean space and you can enjoy the view out the huge windows. Tara's responses were always prompt and very helpful! Give this DC loft a try, you'll be glad you did.”
Where is it?
I am two blocks from a Whole Foods Grocery store and three blocks from the Pentagon City Mall.
