About our home

Our historical light filled urban oasis was fully renovated and redesigned in 2007. With large open spaces, simple, but comfy modern furnishings and little touches like radiant heated floors, a slate shower for two, an in-home yoga room, it's often hard to leave. Please note that we have refurnished the ground floor with two new sofas, a new piano, and new chairs. The current photos reflect the old furniture. Updated photos coming soon.

We are smack in the center of a prestigious historical neighborhood, Society Hill, which means that you need only walk a block in any direction to find a wonderful restaurant or cafe, museum or site of architectural and historical interest, such as Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell or The National Constitution Center. Philly is also right in between New York City and Washington D.C. Both are easily reached by rail or car within two hours. Restaurants, bars, cafes, Washington square park, several yoga studios and much more are all at your fingertips.

We are also in close proximity to hiking in Fairmount Park (twenty minutes by car) and to the world famous casinos and beaches of the Jersey Shore. (One hour by car) to Atlantic City and Two hours to the more family oriented Cape May. Philadelphia is an easy city to navigate on foot or by bus, but if you prefer to have a car, you can use ours if insurance allows.

Society hill is an historical, family friendly, quiet and walkable part of the city, filled with cobblestone streets, organic farmer's markets, (May through November) restaurants, ice cream shops, parks, playgrounds, museums, miniature golf, chic bowling alleys and great movie theaters. There's plenty here to be enjoyed-by all ages from simple strolls through quiet tree lined streets, to afternoons of people watching and playing in the parks, to an evening cocktail on the back patio or on the sidewalk of your favorite cafe. Our favorite summer time stroll is an evening walk to Franklin fountain for a scoop of their very own home made ice cream.
