About our home
Our beautiful home has Brazilian hardwood cherry floors throughout, new kitchen and SS appliances featuring an induction stove. Our brilliant Fiestaware will make every meal lively and cheery. If you're in luck, the mangoes, pineapples, and bananas may be in season. Hammocks are stretched between palms in the back overlooking the wide sea-walled canal leading to the Gulf. Excellent shopping and restaurants in the area. Comfort bikes and kayaks available for your enjoyment in our garage. Plenty of waterways and bike trails to explore. Accessibility for disabled is a work in progress. Please check on our current status. House exterior is now painted a soft pastel green-gray and attractive military-grade hurricane shutters have recently been installed. Please note that our seawall is level with our back yard, is not fenced, and is a concern for young children. Note that our insurance requires MINIMUM stays of .one week. Two week or longer stays available at significantly reduced rates.

“Just back from a wonderful week in Jeromes house in Punta Gorda. Really enjoyed the house and the wonderful pool area. Most of the time is spend outside, and all the facilities are there. We really enjoyed the hammocks by the canal and the cayaks. Jerome is a very attentive host, if there is any questions he takes care.”

“We had a wonderful stay in Jerome's house. His spacious property is super comfortable and great for separate groups needing space and privacy. Jerome was a very attentive and welcoming host, providing everything we needed, including going above and beyond when we had our own medical emergency. The local area is perfect for a relaxing outdoorsy holiday, enjoying the many water activities, biking, great local restaurants and bars. We would have loved to spend more time and hope to be back some day. Highly recommended to other swappers. ”

“Lovely detached house with its own large outdoor area with private pool - heated/cooled depending on preference, nice touch! Lots of space, very comfortable, all the amenities you could want. Easy driving distance from all the South Tampa Bay area sights and some nice bars/restaurants in Punta Gorda itself. Jerome was really helpful and friendly too (offered to take me Kayaking but I ran out of time - maybe next time!) - highly recommended.”

“Welcome to paradise
That is what the sign reads out by the pool - it is accurate. Stayed at Jerome's house with my wife and two kids along with my brother and mother. Could very easily fit more people if we would have used the pull out couch in the living room. Been to Florida on four different occasions with my family and this house has it all. Has every equipment in the kitchen you would need and then some.
Has three bedrooms that all have high quality beds in them. Both my wife and my brother have difficulty sleeping because of back issues. Both slept like a baby :)
The house has two bathrooms that are both clean and spacious.
Pool area is very spacious! Has tables, sofa, large chairs and three ceiling fans so you can also be in the shade to cool of when you need to. Pool is very clean and there are toys for the kids to play with in the pool. Brand new grill and in the garden there is a mango three to have fresh mangoes plus a banana tree :)
The view is breathtaking and every morning so nice to see the birds and the wildlife just close by in this peaceful neighborhood.
Location is excellent: Groceries, shopping at the mall, dinning and the beach plus many golf courses all within 10-15 min.
Icing on the cake is the host Jerome - goes out of is way to make you feel right at home. Our flight was delayed so we did not arrive at the house until 04:00 am and Jerome waited at the house to welcome us in person instead of leaving the key for us. During our stay he was always quick to respond to questions or giving recommendation by message or email. Before we left he came to see us to check if not everything had gone smoothly during our stay and if there was something more he could have done for us.
Everything about the experience was first class. We never wanted to leave. Thank you for a truly wonderful vacation in Florida.

“Had a great time at Jerome's home. I spent most of my day bicycling all over the town. He had some great bicycles there. In fact I bought the same one when I got home. The home was very nice the pool was very pretty and so was the canal View. My bed was super comfortable I slept really well. Jerome was a store and one of the bathrooms so he put a temporary shower in the master bath which worked out just fine. He was very gracious and offered to take me kayaking however my schedule was so busy between my mother coming to visit and my other plans. In addition, I went over to Boca Grande a couple of times. Very beautiful place I would recommend it.”

“We were among Jerome's first guests and had a few issues with him. A few days before our arrival we were informed the master suite was out of commission and would it be ok to lock it. As we needed 3 bedrooms this was unacceptable, Jerome then ordered a temporary shower and had it installed 3 days after our arrival, not ideal but we had to live with it. Kitchen cupboards were not clean, fridge and freezer had dead insects, ants were invading the kitchen, bbq was dirty and falling apart, ceiling fans had thick dust on them.
Jerome is a very nice man and will probably learn from my comments and fix issues for future guests, he did make amends by taking us all on a kayaking adventure which was most enjoyable.
Host's Response----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had previously checked with our guest to see if the master suite would be unavailable due to contractor remodeling delays, if I could offer compensation of $500 cash plus multiple chartered boat cruises. When I then learned that a total of three couples would arrive and all bedrooms and showers were needed, we delivered that, with the second shower, new, temporarily installed the day the two other couples arrived. I personally helped a cleaner sanitize and reassemble the refrigerator and freezer interiors of an almost new unit. There weren’t any insects in it before our guests arrived and brought in bags of materials from their previous Florida stay. Our guest reported to me once that he had used my stand-by ant spray for a batch of tiny ants in the kitchen. This happens in Florida and we haven’t seen an ant since. The BBQ clamshell is aluminum and refinished in a flat black high-temperature paint. It is whole, functioning, and the next three renters/swappers/guests consumed all the propane. I subsequently purchased a stainless steel BBQ to address expectations of others who prefer shiny units. My cleaners missed dusting my windowed Fiestaware cabinet. My next LHS guest teased me about missing it, dusted it herself, and still rated us five for cleanliness. A few of the leading edges of my fans had dust fuzz on them and will be added to my checklist. Temporarily residing only 7,000 feet away from my home during my guests’ stay, my frequent trips to my home to maintain perfect pool chemistry, to raise the shower temperature 15 degrees, lower the heated pool temperature 3 degrees, I find it curious that only the ant and BBQ concerns were expressed to me. Of recent rentals/swaps from six states and nations, this is my only negative review. ”
