About our home

We cannot exchange in July or August. Our home is located in beautiful, sunny Southern California-- where the weather is always warm. If you love to swim, surf, sail, scuba dive, fish, play golf, enjoy outdoor dining, and more, we are the place for you! We have a bright & spacious 2-story townhome 1/2 mile from the beach which offers two bedrooms; the master has a king size bed & the other has a queen size, each with private bath + additional 3/4 bath on lower level. Each bed has a Tempurpedic mattress. Large kitchen with all modern amenities + formal dining room, family room with fireplace, a large sunny patio with BBQ. Office is equipped with phone, computer & printer. Cable TV w/large flat screen TV, TIVO, VCR, Blu Ray DVD, Stereo/CD player with tons of music to enjoy. Our townhomes are located above shops and restaurants including a Japanese restaurant, a Mexican restaurant, a nail spa, and a Bikram Yoga place. Next door to our complex is a small shopping center with a sandwich shop, a bakery, a large drug store, a liquor store, a Thai restaurant, a hair salon, a great pizza place, and a gasoline station. Numerous other shops and restaurants are within walking distance. We have a cleaner that comes weekly, and we hope our exchanges will include the services of a cleaner for us. We cannot travel in July and August.

More about us

  1. We are Jim and Alexis. Jim is a retired aerospace engineer, and Alexis is retired from being the Deputy Superintendent of a local school district. We often travel with a single friend of ours. We have no pets, but we don't mind taking care of your allergy-less cats or dogs. We are non-smokers and ask the same of you in our house and our car. We both love to travel, with Europe having been our favorite destination, although we are open to other ideas. We are experienced home exchangers, and we're looking forward to making your stay a wonderful one! We enjoy visiting museums, stately homes and gardens, going to concerts, and seeing plays. We also enjoy getting to know local people and visiting new Rotary clubs. Since we are both retired, we are able to exchange at any time of the year.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The beach is less than 2 minutes by car, 10 minutes walking. Plenty of shops, markets & restaurants within walking distance, many more if driving. Our beaches are very large with walking/bike path that goes on for miles. You can easily make a day of biking along the ocean path known as The Strand. Nearby King Harbor Marina or Marina Del Rey have charter boats available all year. Freeway is close connecting you to all Southern California attractions: Disneyland, Universal Studios, museums, amusement parks, or within 2 hours you can be in the mountains, the desert, Santa Barbara, or San Diego. This is a great base for a visit in California!
