About our home

2 Story house in a quiet neighborhood. Close to multiple parks, Mississippi river and Downtown St.Paul, MN.

*Fun Neighborhood, open, outgoing people, new friends to meet.
*Large Backyard for Barbeque & Parties
*Porch for relaxing
*Recently Renovated Kitchen

Our home, a 3 bedroom house is situated just 1-2 miles from Downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota, and approximately 10 miles from downtown Minneapolis or Mall of America (MOA). This is perfect for a swap with a family or group. Five adults could sleep comfortably and our home can accommodate up to seven (with one extra mattress we have and a very large couch someone could potentially crash on).

The house: On the main floor, we have a modern record player as well as an old Victrola for your use. We have safety features like fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detector and smoke detectors. The bedrooms are all upstairs. The main bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom is the kids room with a bunk bed. The 3rd bedroom has a single bed. The newly renovated kitchen is light & large enough to hold the entire party. The open porch is complete with a swing and a rocking chair that is perfect for entertaining on a warm summer night or just relaxing. The bathroom is larger than normal and offers a shower & bath. Unfinished basement contains storage area and a full laundry room.

Some of the house features are its hardwood floors, uncluttered open space, lots of kitchen appliances/gadgets like espresso machine, juicer, food processor, dish washer. In the back yard we have a garden, peach tree, roomy backyard, barrel-shaped composter on its own base, local recycling pick-up, stone fire pit, gas barbeque off the kitchen and Wifi internet access.

Eclectic, urban, working class neighborhood, historic, rooted families, socially connected neighbors, very close to public transport with easy access into the city. Hiking, walking or biking is also very common and enjoyable. We have bikes available for use.
Nearby fossil beds with nature trails for hiking, historic paddleford boat rides on river, live music in the parks. Live music each night at nearby Saint Paul venues. Lots of art, culture, museums, fine dining, sporting events. Beautiful lakes even in the city. Welcome to the Land of 10,000 lakes!

Minneapolis/St.Paul-Minnesota is a known from many european travelers to be beautiful green/lush city that can provide the feel of a big city and also all the available activities for an outdoor enthusiast. You can dine at a world class restaurant or take a canoe trip near the Canadian border.

Minneapolis International Airport (MSP) is a major Hub to the Midwest, so traveling to & from here is very easy.

We are professionals traveling to Australia for a family adventure with 2 well behaved daughters (ages 7 & 10). We're in need somewhere to stay between December 2013 to September 2014. We've decided to jump ship from our regular lives of Materials Science Engineer and Fine Arts Photographer. We've dreamed of traveling to Australia for ten years and are thrilled that this is going to happen soon! We plan to travel to several areas of Australia and only need a home base to be able to stay for short periods of time. We'd even be open to a shorter period to stay. The actual duration may change and we are flexible. We are very relaxed and laid-back but also clean, tidy and respectful of other peoples' property. Can provide references.
