Our family of 4 lives in Salt Lake City, UTAH in the United States. My husband and I are both English teachers. We have a 4 bedroom home about 20 minutes from the Univ. of Utah. And about 20 minutes from Salt Lake Community College. We want to travel to Spain or Mexico to study Spanish. If you coming to learn English, we can recommend schools to study at.
We are close to public transportation. We have neighbors that work at the U of U and go there often and could possibly help with transportation.
We would be interested in a house exchange. We have two kids ages 6 and 10. Would kids be OK in your home? We would be tourists and most likely be out of the house much of the day seeing the sites and traveling and practicing our Spanish.
We would need you to take care of plants and our cat. Or if you can't take care of the cat, we can find a neighbor to do this.
We are available for this summer or next (2008). We are looking for 2-4 weeks flixible depending on your needs. Any time June 10-Aug 10. We don't have airline tickets yet. We wait your reply. Please let us know if you are interested in this exchange.
We look forward to your response.
We live in a very friendly community that encourages neighbors to get to know each other. Go to www.cohousing.org and click on Utah. Our community is Wasatch Commons. This is where we live. If you come to our home, you will make many American friends and have people willing to answer your questions. We are NOT members of the Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). I just add that, because UTAH is very famous for the mormons. But the city of Salt Lake City and the Univ. of Utah is very liberal with many different churches and religions.
My husband and I have travel many times before. We both teach English as a Second Language. My husband speaks Spanish and we are raising our children bi-lingual. I need to learn Spanish and this is my goal for traveling.
