About our home

This apartment is our vacation rental. It rents out for most of the summer and holidays so off season is the best time to offer a swap. I also do not swap for more than 1 week. I am asking for a cleaning fee of $85 when there are children younger than 16

We live upstairs on the 2nd and 3rd levels of our 3-story craftsman house, and the apartment is on the 1st floor. Our entry and outside area is on the opposite side of the home as the apartment, so there is quite a lot of privacy for both us and our guests. We are located in what is known as the lower riviera section of Santa Barbara.
There is over 1400 square feet of living space for this apartment. This includes several decks and large patio. The apartment is 600 sf and the outdoor area exclusive to this apartment is 850 sf. There is 1 parking space for this unit.

This is an old charming home built in the 1940's. Everything is a bit out of square with lots of little steps up and down and posts and beams all around. The entire apartment was recently remodeled.

There is 1 private bedroom with a queen size bed and a semi private sleeping alcove with a full size bed. The alcove does not have a door and it is 3 steps up with a low ceiling of 6 feet. Off of the bedroom is the newly remodeled bathroom, with a tiled shower, and slate floors. Also from the bedroom there are french doors leading to a private outdoor deck. This is the perfect place for morning coffee.
There are 2 spots from this apartment that there is a bit of an ocean view, seen between the neighbor's roof, otherwise the charm of this house is all the wonderful sunny outdoor areas among the oak trees and the clean and cozy indoor areas.

Santa Barbara is a beautiful Spanish style beach community with lots of shopping and outdoor activities including kayaking and sailing and hiking. The climate is mild year round, surrounded by the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. It is known as the Riviera of the United States.
We are 2 hours north of Los Angeles and 4 hours south of San Francisco.

  2. Tom is a structural engineer and photographer and Jill is an architect and ceramic artist

  3. We book up quickly during the summer months and are only available for short term stays. We are looking to go to New York in in the spring or fall.
