Santa Cruz is one of the most famous beachside cities in California, and this luxury home has Sunny Cove Beach at its doorstep, with a panoramic view of Monterey Bay (see picture). You can step outside for surfing and walks on the beach, seals, whales, otters and dolphins can be seen from the front room. The house is a two block walk to local shops and a short drive or bike ride to downtown Santa Cruz or Capitola, including both fancy and “funky” shops & restaurants.
The house has a giant kitchen, fireplace, hot tub, pool table, beds to sleep 14 people, and private parking for yourself and guests. Bonfires are allowed on the beach, you can easily meet local people by their bonfires.
Nearby attractions including Monterey Bay Aquarium (45 minutes), San Francisco (1.5 hours), Vineyards (15-30 minutes, 3 hours to Napa) and driving the famous Route 1 coastal highway (10 minutes).
The house is large. You can shoot pool at 3 am and not wake anyone or bother the neighbors. We share this house with friends and relatives all the time, and it’s setup as a great space for lots of people to enjoy together - including bunk beds in the play room. It’s all ready for exchange, including a website with complete instructions, helpful neighbors, etc.
The house has plenty of indoor entertainment, including a TV, DVD and Internet access (both wireless and ethernet), plenty of beach equipment, extra blankets, towels, etc. The house has a basketball hoop, pingpong table, full sized pool table, many board games, and toys for kids.
The car for exchange is a 1999 Beetle (turbo), great fun. The house has a weekly gardener and cleaning service.
Exchange does not have to be simultaneous, the house is a second home.
Please email for more information. I’d be happy to tell you more about the house, the area, etc.
My name is Adam, 35 years old. I work as a software executive and engineer in silicon valley, and have worked for many famous companies. I have done over 10 exchanges around the world and love meeting people and hosting guests-- exchange does not have to be simultaneous. I also own a home in Berkeley, about an hour away and very close to San Francisco.
I do not smoke or have pets-- and if I invited friends on a trip, I would insist on the same for them, and of course take responsibility for them. I love to cook, so it's very important to me to have a working kitchen and nearby grocery stores.
