About our home

Welcome to our light-filled, vintage one bedroom bungalow on our beautiful property. Our street is one of the oldest in Santa Cruz. We are close to downtown, but also sit high above a creek which provides wildlife and a rural feeling. The cottage has a large redwood deck wrapped around a redwood tree and gorgeous views into the hills. It is private, quiet and comfortable. We are a 5 minute drive from one of the best beaches in Santa Cruz, 5 minute drive from De Laveaga park-- a rural forest of hiking trails in the redwoods and a 15 minute walk from colorful and eclectic downtown Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is 40 minutes from the Monterey Bay Aquarium/Carmel/Pt Lobos on the Big Sur Coast and 1 1/2 hours from Big Sur proper. In the other direction we are 1 1/2 hr from SF. There are many local wineries and breweries, hiking trails, beaches and the local art scene is thriving. We welcome a child or two, but there is only one bed so we could only provide pads. We also welcome a dog, however please be aware the property is not fenced. National Geographic Explorer and best-selling author Dan Buettner searched for the happiest Americans. Where he found them will surprise you.
