Our home is approximately 2000 sq.ft (220m2) with 3 bedrooms, study, 2 full baths, a kitchen with all the standard amenities (refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave). The home is only 13 years old and has been well maintained. There are 6, 7 skylights. The floors in the living areas are saltillo tile; the bedrooms are carpeted. There is a garage. We have basic cable TV. There is a computer for use. There is a flagstone patio in the back with a covered portal for enjoying the view of the mountains. We have almost 1/2 acre of land that looks onto the Sangre de Cristo Mountains from our backyard.
We are located on a cul de sac which is very quiet. The Plaza in the center of downtown Santa Fe is only 3 miles (6km) from our door, and is easily accessible by car, on foot, or by bus. There is a public bus line that runs 100 yards (100m) from our door. Our street has only 10 homes on it, each home on about 1/2 to 1 acre lots.
I am a professor of mathematics, classics, French, and literature at a small liberal arts college in Santa Fe (St. John's College); my wife is an epidemiologist and works for the New Mexico Dept. of Health in the immunization department. We have two children, age 17 and 15.
My wife and I are fluent in French. I am also capable in German and Swahili. We have lived for three years in the Congo. I have lived for one year in India and one year in France (Haute Savoie).
