Our 3600 sq ft. home is on a two acre lot. We have a pool and a really cool fort/swing set that younger kids love. There are lots of trees and a large swing seat under the best oak tree on the block. You can find beautiful artwork from all over the world gracing the walls of almost every room in our home.
The master bedroom was just added to our home and has a king size bed and a sitting area, an en-suite bathroom with a separate water closet. It contains a large shower area. It has a large wall hanging plasma tv, dvd, dvr, and a surround sound stereo system., and its own washer and dryer.
The girls' room has bathroom with both a shower and Jacuzzi bath tub. It has a two twin size beds. There is a wall mounted plasma tv in addition to a dvd player. The other girl’s
room has a full size bed. There is a tv with cable.
The boys’ room has three twin beds. They also have a tv with cable.
The family room has a fireplace and large lcd tv, comfortable seating for five and an internet ready computer. We have a DVD/VHS combo player and a stereo. Of course there are lots of DVDs.
Our living room has a beautiful bay window with a wonderful view of the front yard and fountain. It seats five for nice quiet conversation.
Our dining room is beside the kitchen and comfortably seats six, but we squeeze all eight of us into it.
We have of course a fully functional kitchen, with all of the regular stuff- dishwasher, microwave, fridge, etc.
We have a large laundry room/pantry.
Right off of the kitchen and family room is our patio, deck, and pool. The patio area has seating for eight, and there is also a gas barbecue. The deck has a table with four chairs and four lounge chairs. There is a fountain on the deck that is surrounded by beautiful plants and contains live fish that don’t require any care. The pool bath is located right off of the deck.
Our neighborhood was originally created by circus folks who needed large properties for their circus animals. It is not at all unusual to see horses walking down the street. Most homes have a two acre minimum. There are a few families on our block with children. Our neighbors directly across the street are wonderful and have already offered to assist you if needed. There are three large grocery stores, many restaurants, and a discount movie theater within 5 miles.
For the performing arts lover Sarasota has everything you would hope to find in a cultured city. Check out www.sarasota-arts.org to see a few of the things will be happening during your vacation. Don't forget about the golf! There are many beautiful public and semi private golf courses in Sarasota. For the nature lover there are two beautiful state parks about a half hour away. Near our home is a wonderful park with lots of shade and picnic tables. There are public tennis courts nearby, as well as a skate board park.
For shoppers right in town we have world famous shopping on St. Armands Circle, just a half hour away is Ellenton Outlet Mall, and about an hour away is the International Mall. Of course we have good malls right here in town as well.
In town we have G-Wiz, a hands on children's science museum, we are about an hour away from Tampa where you can find MOSI (the museum of science and industry), Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, and Adventure Island, the Devil Rays Baseball Team, The Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (American) Football team, and two hours from Disney.

We are a family of eight! Bob and Diana run a service company in the construction industry. Bob enjoys golfing, coaching his boys in baseball, attending sporting events and watching them on tv, Diana enjoys spending time with friends, entertaining, Cassie is 18 and is a senior in high school and hopes to become a forensic chemist, Ariel, who is a freshman in the fall, is 15 and enjoys spending time with friends, both in person and on the computer and LOVES to shop, Michael is 13 and he and Jacob (who is 11) are avid baseball players. Matthew, who has never seen a video game he didn't love is 8 and Hannah, the baby, is 2. Cassie will be graduating this year and we want most to take her on an awesome trip so we really want to swap for a couple of weeks in the summer of '08. Hannah will still be sleeping in a portable crib, so we don't need a bed for her yet. We have a five passenger Lexus that we would consider trading, either for your vehicle or public transportation passes.
Nikki, and Zoey are our beloved German Shepherds. If you're fortunate enough to know and love Shepherds and would like to care for ours that would be great. But you don't want them in the pool with you, they think everyone is drowning and are always trying to save people.
Bob smokes, but not in our home. Diana won't let him. He would treat your home with the same respect, and would ask any smokers to do the same for us.
We have never swapped before, but have taken many vacations and stayed in many hotels and more recently rented homes. My children have never broken anything during vacation (I promise!). They don't even jump on beds at hotels without getting permission from the front desk first, really! I have a normal family so we will treat your home better than we treat ours.
We are open to swapping with any type of family.
