About our home

We live in a charming 1909 cottage. It is petite but has everything you need. There are two bedrooms--one with a double bed and one with a twin bed. The couch is comfortable and can sleep two people. We have a new Aireloom mattress in the main bedroom. The home sits in a park like setting with mature plants in front and a brand new deck/pergola in the back with a barbeque. There is a tiny house in our backyard where my mother lives independently. She doesn't always travel with us. There is easy on-street parking and also a driveway inside the surrounding fence.

More about us

  1. We are a middle-aged couple (okay, maybe beyond middle age at this point) with an empty nest looking forward to visiting our children or exploring new places. Steve is a retired physical therapy assistant who have always been a musician at heart. Hie plays all kinds of stringed instruments. Celia is a medical social worker who loves travel and cooking. We have done several home exchanges with our children and love the way it allows us to get to know an area so much better. We spend a lot of time in our yard and would love for others to enjoy it as we do.

Where is it?

Our home is located in an old Seattle neighborhood where many of the homes date from the early 1900's. It is quiet but just a 5 minute walk for a small business district with a natural grocery store. It is a 10 minute walk to Seward Park on Lake Washington. It is a great recreational area with hiking trails, bicycle paths, swimming (in season!) and occasional festivals and concerts. Fifteen minutes by foot in the other direction is Columbia City, an historic district with many restaurants, music venues, unique shops, movie theater, library and farmer's market (May-Oct). Public transportation is a few minutes' walk away.
