About our home

High Sierra Log Home - a very well appointed and decorated home. Knotty pine and hard wood floors, leather reading chair, plenty of room on the comfy couch, fine art and rugs, down pillows and comforters... a real sweet spot. Comfort and style have been our goal. You will find all you need to relax in style. With high speed internet, dish Cable and full on cell and phone use - stay connected as you get away. We are 3 miles from Sugar Bowl and surrounded by Royal Gorge for winter fun or just a mile from Ice Lake, a wonderful place to play and swim with the kids - woods outback connect with trail system of hundreds of miles. Some of the best mnt and road riding in the world. The kitchen set up is killer, top of the line. Drive in garage is nice on a snow day. Sit on the deck in the sun and BBQ or hike / snow shoe / ride / ski - right out the back door.
Master bedroom with queen and master bath up stairs borders a loft with entertainment center and pull out queen bed. Loft is a great yoga spot with plenty of extra room to chill. I like to come here and work and play, so a desk set up with a wonderful woodland view is also up stairs. Downstairs we have two bed rooms, one with two twin beds and another with a queen they share a full bathroom. The vaulted ceiling over the living room, make this a special spot. With the kitchen, dinning area (seats 8 easy), center island with 3 bar stools and living area, create a wonderful great room. We keep water and snow toys in the garage to share. The lake is just down the road for boating and swimming - you are open to use the committee beach - the most kid friendly on the globe

More about us

  1. About the owner: I love to play in the woods. Up here its ride, hike, ski, rest, eat....repeat. Work in the advertising business, representing health and sport media properties. Family, work, yoga, sport, dating...all favorite things. While pets are not allowed, my Newfi loves it up here.

  2. Why the Owner Chose Soda Springs: A short 3 hour drive from the Bay Area, I wanted someplace close enough for the weekend. I bought this for the winter play, have always loved Sugar Bowl and X-Country, now I love it all year round. The summer lake, hiking and the road and mnt cycling are just killer. Now that I have a nice place to work, with high speed internet - its a great work retreat for me as well. This is our family spot, for me and my kids. We rent it to make it possible.

  3. The Unique Benefits at this Cabin: Playing hard and then a great massage - a favorite ritual here. Hundreds of miles of the best hiking and riding trails are right out the door or a short drive. Ski hill 3.5 miles away, I sometimes come home for lunch. Some days I drive the 20 min to Squaw or other north shore ski hills. Reno for a show. Favorite weekend with little kids is the 4th of July - the parade with kids on bikes and BBQ at the lake is a throw back to small town living. This is a very quite spot, off the beaten track. The perfect escape - with things close and all tucked away. Snow is deep here, this house is unique due to its location to the roads that clear when the rest of this community is snowed in, because we are on the road to Royal Gorge.
