About our home

This large, chic studio includes a small kitchen and bathroom with shower over the bathtub. All five sets of windows, as well as the French doors that lead to the terrace, have shudders for added privacy. The queen bed includes a Termpur-pedic mattress so can be adjusted at both the head and foot of the bed. The kitchen includes a 4-burner Viking range as well as an under-counter wine refrigerator (note there is no regular refridgerator). The backyard includes a brick terrace with small table and two chairs. It looks out over a lovely fountain and on to the creek that borders the property. Although close to the street there is a rock wall with a privacy hedge above and the fountain provides the soothing sound of water falling.

Sonoma has a small-town feel yet being in the middle of the Sonoma Valley wine country is a destination for many wine-loving visitors and under an hour's drive from San Francisco. Our property is only 2 1/2 blocks off the Plaza which has shops, winery tasting rooms and restaurants lining the perimeter. There is also a bike path that traverses the town through vineyards and open fields.

Many incredible wineries are within walking or biking distance including Sebastiani, Buena Vista and Bartholomew Park.

Within a 15-minute walk:
- The Plaza and all the shops, wine tasting rooms and restaurants that surround the plaza
- Walks through vineyards and bicycle path
- Grocery stores, including Sonoma Market (best), Whole Foods and Safeway
- Wineries, including Sebastiani, Buena Vista and Bartholomew Park

Within a 30-minute drive:
- Top quality wineries such as Patz and Hall, Domaine Carneros, Chateau St. Jean, B.R. Cohn, Landmark and Gloria Ferrer
- The towns of Napa, Yountville, Petaluma and Santa Rosa
- Jack London Park in Glen Ellen (great hikes)

Within an hour’s drive:
- San Francisco, Sebastapol, Healdsburg, St. Helena, Calistoga, Bodega Bay, Pt. Reyes Station.

Car: You may wish to rent a car for your visit. Once you are in Sonoma, and plan to stay local, a car is not necessary. But if you want to explore various wineries in Sonoma and Napa Counties it is more cost-effective to do so.

Flying In:
- San Francisco (SFO): provides the broadest flight options. 1 1/2 hours away.
- Oakland (OAK); sometimes can offer less-expensive options that SFO. 1 1/4 hours away.
- Sacramento (SMF): often less traffic to/from depending on the time of day. 1 1/2 hours away.
- Santa Rosa (STS): super-cute regional airport but with pretty-much only prop planes. The airport is named after Charles Schultz, creator of Peanuts and local celebrity (he has passed), and the airport includes many life-size Peanuts characters out front as well as inside the terminal. 1 hour away.

Rules:
- All guests must be fully vaccinated with verifiable CDC Vaccine Card(s).
- There is a $100 cleaning fee for any length of stay.
- As of 2022 the minimum number of nights is seven although you are welcome to stay fewer nights if that is your preference.
- There is absolutely no smoking, whether cigarettes, vape pens, cannabis or any other product that generates vapor and/or smoke, on the property.
If any of these rules are not possible for you to adhere to please select another property that can better meet your interests and needs.
