Our 700 square foot cabin has 2 small bedrooms with very comfortable queen size beds. One bedroom is on the main level, the other is up ladder type stairs. There is also two twin size beds and a chair in the loft area upstairs.
The kitchen has a full size oven and gas range, a microwave, toaster, blender, waffle iron, fridge, and all the kitchen gadgets needed to make a nice meal. We have a good size table in the dining area that seats 6, to sit and eat meals.
In the small bathroom there is a little shower, sink, a medicine cabinet, toilet and a hair dryer.
The living area has a sofa for two, a settee and a rocking chair. There is a wood burning stove, for those cold winter months.(wood is supplied) Also there is a wall heater.
In the one car garage there is a washer and dryer. There are 2 bikes to ride. If you want, you can tie the 2 kayaks up to the top of your truck or S.U.V. and take them out to Lake Tahoe or any of the other smaller lakes around the Tahoe Basin. (life jackets are also there to borrow).
There is a private hot tub (for 6) on the large back deck to relax and unwind in. There is a gas BBQ. with plenty of seating and a table outdoors for a picnic type meal under the pine
We also have free internet connection, and cable TV.
We hired an agency in town, who will be able to take care of any problem that may happen when you are here.
Our cabin is in a very good neighborhood with nice houses all around us, our house is one of the smaller ones on the block. It is in a safe, very quiet neighborhood with nice neighbors. There is a National trail head going into the National forest just down the street to take walks or mountain bike rides. It is also pleasant just to walk or bike around the neighborhood. We own the empty lot next to us too, and set up a horse shoe "pit" to play.
There is a grocery store about a 5-10 minute drive away. Heavenly ski resort is about 15-20 min. Sierra Ski Ranch is about 30 mins. The casinos are about a 25 min. drive away. We are in an area where you can relax and unwind away from it all, but still be close to everything. A car is recommended, unless you like to ride the bikes.
We like to sit in the hot tub at night and look at the stars through the trees. How much brighter they seem here than in the city!
My husband is retired. My husband Steve was a plumber and I (Kate) work in paints. He loves to fish, hunt and work on his 3 older cars. I enjoy reading, sewing and crafting. We both enjoy traveling and meeting people.
Since this is our vacation home, and we are retired, we don't have to trade simultaneously and we can be flexable about dates. We are hoping to stay at least 3 weeks.
We only speak English well. I am trying to learn French with a program on the computer, and I did take a couple of Italian language coarses, but ....
My husband and I LOVED Paris when we vacationed there last month and now we are trying to figure out a way to go again. Our 1st choice is Paris, but we would also consider another big city in Europe with easy transportation close by, we don't want to drive in a foreign country.
