“We spent 8 days in Sara's apartment just outside Lisbon in May 2010 and had a totally fantastic time. Sara was with us for the first three days. She made our stay even better than it would have been. She was a very generous host - kind, thoughtful and lots of fun. Her apartment is very comfortable and close to the beach and transport and shops. Caracvelos is close to lots of beaches, historical towns and Lisbon itself. It was central to all the places we wanted to explore in and around Lisbon. We would totally recommend Sara and her apartment as exchange partners to everyone.”

About our home
3 year old home I built for one or a couple but room to sleep four comfortably. The loft bath has a jacuzi bathtub, the bath on main floor a shower. Small convenient kitchen electric stove/oven microwave, dishwasher. 2 tvs with satalite programing, internet connection dinosaur slow with high-speed not available at this time (too wooded for satalite, too far off road for cable, antique phone lines won't carry). Wrap-around deck. Privacy and quiet here in the woods. Light and airy, open rooms. Attached garage.
What a beautiful place, these Tennesse mountains! This is a place of beauty and peace here in my home in the woods, watch for deer, racoon, fox and wild turkey--(only one bear sighting last year-I believe they have moved on) 200 feet of woods between this house and nearest neighbor. 5-min drive down to a quaint town in the valley. Thirty minute drive from there to Chattanooga, with fun tourist things to do and see. 1 1/2 hour interstate drive to Nashville with its music heritage and shopping. The speech here is "Southern drawl", a bit difficult to understand if not accustomed to it, but you will soon "catch-on to it" :) Lots of country music everywhere--if you'd like to join neighbors for "pickin' and grinnin" evenings on someone's porch you would be welcomed.
I am single woman who fell in love with this beautiful area and made the move here permanent--I built my home here 3 years ago. I write poetry and songs. I am a nurse practitioner. I have a young adult nephew who will travel with me if travel arranged when his college is not in session, otherwise a friend will accompany. I enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories, sightseeing, music, dining, museums and art. I don't bike, ski, or hike, but I stroll! :)
