The house is right on the beach. Our neighborhood is in a beach community, we live on a very quiet street with single family homes. The street connects two public beaches, but is not highly traveled. The town is simple and sweet; within walking distance to very good restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops and galleries. There is always a fair or community event in the town during the summer weeks. It is very quiet and safe. Simple pleasures with family and friends: grilling on the deck, long walks on the beach, watching the boats, playing frisbee, eating snow cones. Please go to www.sjcity.com for more information about the city of St. Joseph.
If you want more adventure you can take the train or drive to Chicago (the station is within walking distance, 3 minutes--you can drive to Chicago in 90 minutes). You are 3 hours from Detroit or Indianapolis. You are also within driving distance to northern Michigan (3-4 hours).
We are a family of 5. Steve is a banker, Jamie is a lawyer, our kids are 15, 11, and 6. We are very active and love to boat, ski, travel, and play sports. We are very open to new people and new experiences--and we all would love to learn another language!
