About our home

Our home is a colonial with a front porch where one can sit and look out at the peaceful street. It has a two car garage, patio in the backyard with furniture for outdoor dining, a barbeque, pergola, and perenial garden. There is a smaller deck off the kitchen. An extensive lawn leads to the woods. Numeral animals and bird visit our forest. There is a front porch where you can sit and see the (rare) people passing by. The living area downstairs is open, light, and airy. The house is tastefully decorated with Marcel's paintings. Several 50's, 60's and Art Deco pieces are displayed. Three family bedrooms are upstairs, and the den downstairs can be used as a fourth bedroom. The two bathrooms upstairs are new and decorated with Italian tiles. There is a half bath downstairs. The kitchen has just been renovated with a new granite countertop. The master bedroom has been repainted. Our house/garden won a prize on the internet.
It was used in movies.

We would love to have this opportunity to travel by exchanging homes and promise to take the best care of wherever we stay! We will consider any location, depending on desire of the moment and season. We consider the US and abroad. We lived in Europe, Africa, and the US and are very open-minded. Lets make friends!
Our last exchanges were a great success.

Where is it?

The neighborhood is a typical New England one with a quiet, wide street and houses that are fairly far apart. Neighbors walk around this area, alone or with their dogs. All the homes have large lawns and trees. Forests, rivers and lakes are around us. We are approximately five minutes from the nearest shopping center and seven minutes from the beach. It takes about 45 minutes to drive or take the train into New York City. There are many other day-trips that one can take from here including: Philadelphia, Boston, the beautiful and historic Hudson Valley, or the picturesque coastal Connecticut towns. Stamford itself has much to offer in the way of theater, restaurants, and shopping. A lovely park is adjacent to the beach. Stamford's neighboring towns in Fairfield County, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, and Westport, are all worth a trip. Large Long Island beaches are about 1-2 hours away.
