About our home

We are located in the unique Sonoran Desert, home of the saguaro cactus, in a beautiful resort community with fascinating desert plants/cactus and many lakes called Sun Lakes. Our one-level Southwestern style home features an open floor plan with many windows and lots of interior light, a very spacious master bedroom suite with an attached bathroom and walk-in closet, kitchen and dining room eating areas, desert vgetation in the front and back yards, an outdoor fountain that you can hear inside the house, sliding glass doors that open the house to the outside, and a covered patio off the master bedroom. Both bedrooms have queen-sized beds and our den has a queen-sized sofa bed or space for our high quality double blow-up bed with pump. We have a two-car attached garage, a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, and a wireless internet connection. We are a retired professional couple, and we would be very respectful of your home. Our community offers a myriad of amenities in the immediate neighborhood such as golf courses of varying difficulty, tennis courts, pickleball courts, heated swimming pools, lap pools and spas, a fitness center, country clubs, many types of restaurants, numerous exercise classes, billiard rooms, and diverse games such as bridge and mah jongg. Our golf cart and two bikes are available so you can easily access these amenities. We have visitors who want to completely relax, and they feel that their vacation is complete even though they never leave the amenities of our community. Other visitors like to explore Phoenix, which is the sixth largest city in the United States and has so much to offer: outdoor recreation like hiking, climbing, cycling; quality museums like the Heard Museum featuring the American Indians in Arizona, the Phoenix Art Museum featuring southwestern art, and the Musical Instrument Museum; high quality restaurants, shopping and art galleries in Scottsdale, Cave Creek and Carefree; architect Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen, and much more. We are only a 25-minute drive to Sky Harbor, which is the Phoenix International Airport. Our house can also serve as a base for short trips of one to three days around Arizona to see the fascinating sights in the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, the red rocks, art and shopping of Sedona, Lake Powell, the Glen Canyon dam, the art communities of Jerome and Bisbee, multiple American Indian reservations; Tucson and the nearby art community of Tubac; Kartchner Caverns, and more. In addition to our Arizona home, we have a summer home on Lake Erie (one of the U.S. Great Lakes) in Lakeside, Ohio. This is a very special gated community that is a perfect place for families with children to visit in the summer months. Lakeside offers a myriad of recreational and indoor activities and events for children and adults.

More about us

  1. Our daughter, her husband and their 3 children have moved permanently to Bath, England, and we want to visit the Bath area and other areas of England any time; nonsimultaneous exchanges okay; we live in Arizona about September 15 to May 1 and in Ohio on Lake Erie the rest of the year. Our Ohio home is also available for home exchanges in the summer.

  2. Our Sonoran Desert home is in a Phoenix, Arizona, suburb that is full of amenities. Phoenix and Arizona provide incredibly diverse opportunities like hiking, biking, golfing; all types of culture; museums; botanical gardens and more. You can use our golf cart or bikes or take day trips to Phoenix, the red rocks and art galleries of Sedona, Karchner Caverns, Tucson and more. You can also use our home as a base for 2 or 3 day trips to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, archaelogical sites like cliff dwellings, Old West ghost towns, Monument Valley, etc.

  3. Our summer home is in a unique lakeside community that offers evening entertainment, arts and crafts, recreation, education, swimming and boating and more.
