Our home is located between the towns of Telluride and the Mountain Village, Colorado. Telluride is known for some of the best skiing in the United States.
The house is on three levels and is a custom built home with many wonderful features, including huge south facing windows that let in a lot of cheerful sun, an indoor garden, maple floors, large stone heated floors, office and garage with washer/dryer. The kitchen is magnificent and has an original 6 burner gas Magic Chef stove from 1936!
The master bedroom has a queen bed, and master bath has jacuzzi tub, tile shower, and separate room for toilet. There are great views of the mountains from the master. The second bedroom has its own bath, and a trundle bed that can be either a single bed or a king size bed.
If you don't want to drive, there is free bus transportation to Telluride, and a free gondola service runs from Telluride up to the Mountain Village. Telluride has many fine dining restaurants, shops, cultural events, etc. throughout the year. Telluride is also close to such towns as Moab, Utah (Arches National Park, Canyonlands, mountain biking mecca).
Our neighborhood is very quiet and residential. No dogs are allowed in the neighborhood (because of deer and elk) so it is REALLY quiet. Very safe for children.
We are a couple in our 40s with a six-yr-old son. We love the outdoors, skiing, hiking, biking. We like to spend time living in other countries, and previously spent 4 months in Nicaragua, Panama and Costa Rica.
I am an independent filmmaker, and my husband is the executive director of an environmental organization that promotes education and sustainability.
