About our home

A home on a high hill surrounded by woods with seasonal views of Grand Traverse Bay. Two large porches make summer living very pleasant. We have a large private backyard with an out door shower. The first floor of the home is very open so that the kitchen, dining room and living room all flow together and open onto the porches. There is a sleeping loft with a queen bed and a queen fold out couch, Two up stairs bedroom also have queen beds. The main floor bedroom has two twin beds and the basement bedroom has a bunk bed. Our home has beautiful cherry floors in the living room, dining room and kitchen. The living room has a vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is very well laid out with concrete counter tops and solid maple cabinets. The basement has a ping-pong table and there is a basketball hoop in the driveway. Our beach across the road has a lovely deck and a drive way in case you want to drive elderly or young children instead of walking. If you have never been to northern Michigan you will be delighted with all of our beautiful lakes.

Leelanau County is a very charming place with rolling hills, woods and beautiful turquois lakes. We have many delightful vineyards, cherry orchards and ethnic restaurants. The Traverse City Film Festival brings lots of fimmakers, actors, and film lovers to our region. Winters are also beautiful here and cross country skiing is a popular sport. Boating and swimming are the most popular sports in the summer. Art fairs and music festivals are also plentiful in the summer. Antique stores abound as well as many fine art galleries. There is also the Traverse City Marathon at the conclusion of the week long festivites of July 4th. We enjoy watching the deer in our back yard from our kitchen window or sitting on the back porch.

I am a kindergarten teacher and my husband is a cabinet maker. We have two adult daughters and two son-in-laws and one grandson. We are cross country skiers and love to kayak. We adore northern Michigan and hope someday to live full time in our vacation home. We love to travel and learn about other cultures and people. We are non-smokers and hope that any one who stays in our home would abstain from smoking inside the home. We love to make meals with friends, read, go to films, listen to music and hike.
