About our home

This historic home was built in 1940, by a Honolulu matriarch, as a mountain retreat for herself and her grandchildren. She had her son, a well-known Honolulu architect, design it, and the details are charming. It is made of solid redwood, with floor to ceiling windows looking out on to the town and Mauna Kea (White Mountain, because it actually gets snow!). The grounds are local flora meticulously planted and cared for by my husband, Frank. The home sits on an acre, but within easy walking distance to markets, park, dining, and shopping.
