ISO Swap in Spain/France/Italy June 2023

We love LHS! We have now hosted four families in our home, and we have stayed in two LHS homes. We are actively looking for travel opportunities, specifically in France, but we are open to exploring any part of Europe. We are very flexible. If you have a home that would be a suitable swap, and want to visit San Diego with your family, please reach out!

Welcome to your next family-friendly, resort-style getaway in a great location in San Diego! Our home is situated in a great, residential, new neighborhood built in 2020. Just minutes from the freeways to get you anywhere you want to go in Southern California, our neighbor is tucked between two mountains in a private and quiet valley. Surrounded by rolling hills, horse ranches, nature trails, a nearby lake and plenty of wild life, enjoy both the amenities of the city and the niceties of rural life. This family-friendly, safe neighborhood has several playgrounds and open parks to entertain the young ones, and maintained biking and hiking trails, just outside our doorstep.

Our 4250 square foot (395 square meters) home is your home away from home. We meticulously designed our home with comfort. functionality, safety and outdoor fun in mind. Walk in to the large entry, with three large bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom with shower and bath combo, off the main hallway. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, Bedroom 2 has a single twin bed, and Bedroom 3 functions either as a playroom (stocked with plenty of toys) or a murphy wall queen bed, with TV.

The large gourmet kitchen is stocked with high-tech cooking tools for you to cook fantastic home cooked meals, or order delivery from one of our amazing local restaurants! Open concept kitchen, living room and dining room offer views of the mountain scape. Host family movies nights on the wide screen TV with surround sound. The kitchen opens up with sliding panoramic doors to an outdoor California room, with a large rustic dining table and fire place to enjoy outdoor meals, while still feeling indoors.

The backyard is a dream scape. Lush greenery and architectural details give privacy, and enjoy hours of endless play in the black bottom, salt water pool and spa. SAFETY FEATURE: The pool has an underground pool cover that is electronically controlled. When the pool is closed, it is secure enough to walk on, making the pool area kid and pet safe. A large 9-person outdoor seating area is warmed by an outdoor gas-powered fire pit, and string lights and music turn the backyard into a fun place to gather. Large grassy area and playground with slide for the kids to play in. BBQ on property to grill your family's meals to enjoy poolside.

Master retreat is nearly 600 sqft (56 sqm) of pure private retreat. King bed with memory-foam Temperpedic mattress has movable base for the ultimate night's sleep. Large desk for those that need to work virtually, or plan their next home swap. Master bathroom has a spa-like feel, with very large walk in shower and soaking tub. Private sitting room with flat screen TV for the parents to enjoy a private, kid-free glass of wine before retiring for the evening.

Home is also equipped with functional laundry room with washer and dryer, powder room, and crafting room/office. We have a housekeeping service every Tuesday (including during swaps).

Home does have a friendly resident cat, Tegan, who is an indoor-outdoor cat, and two miniature Australian Shepherd dogs, JD and Jersey. We generally prefer to leave them at home (as opposed to boarding), as they are older and prefer to be lazy around the house. My parents also live on the property in an adjoining, but entirely separate apartment. If they are not traveling with us, they are caretakers of the property. If they are traveling with us, it is also possible to rent their apartment that has its own living room with large TV, kitchenette (microwave, sink, refrigerator, cook top), bedroom with king bed, and full bath with shower. To use this separate space would be another 150/points per night.

We are frequently open to traditional swaps in France, especially around Paris. We are also open to other places in Europe. However, we are fairly adventurous, so if you are interested in our home, send us a message, and you never know... it may work out as a good swap!
