Our 3 bedroom home, with 2 baths, a full family room in the basement so the kids can have all the fun they want while not disturbing Mom and Dad. Our backyard is exceptionally private considering we are in the city limits of Boston. You can have a beverage or two in complete privacy while the kids play on the swing set or play pirates in the fort house. The main floor is consists of a comfortable parlor with no T.V. by design. The dining room is warm and comfortable and the kitchen has a pantry and all you'll need to prepare for day trips. The basement is where our 3 boys play knee hockey, wrestle and enjoy "Friday Night Movie" on the 48" flat screen t.v. with DVD. We are located conveniently to go downtown Boston by car or public transit. You are 60 minutes to Cape Cod and the Ocean, the mountains of New Hampshire or the lakes of the Berkshires or the mansions of Newport R.I..
We are in a residential neighborhood. There is a bus one block from the house that will take you to all major transits or a commuter train 1 mile from the house where you can just skip directly to downtown Boston and the historic waterfront. We are a mile from the center of town, where the Irish presence is dominent whether you are going to have a pint at "The Corrib", "West" (run by a Corkman) The Irish Ale House to name a few, or the real Cheers of Boston "Doyle's" in Jamaica Plain, just 4 miles away. There are fields for walking, soccer leagues and baseball...all within minutes drive. We are also close to some of the better parts of Boston's Emerald Necklace; an interconnecting park system that surrounds most of Boston.
My wife and I are 2 professionals with 3 boys 12, 8 and 6. I coach the local soccer league and my wife is active in education. My family is from Galway and I go to Ireland frequently. I am interested in a house swap, preferrably on the West coast so that I could take the entire family, including 4 in-laws who are of Irish ancestry and would love to experience more than a bus tour. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate our home a solid 7. It is genuinely warm and cozy, with many private amenities that make very comfortable, but it is not posh by any means. Geographically speaking, we are in a quiet corner of Boston, but accessible to everything. My in-laws who want to join us have a bigger house in the suburbs, but they need to travel an hour plus to get to anything we have at our doorstep. So if you have relatives in Boston or want to taste the Irish in Boston flavor, we have the home for you.
