About our home

Modern architect's home in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn that was featured in Dwell magazine. 1,800 sqft interior plus 600 sqft roof deck. 2 story apartment occupying the third and fourth floor of the building we own. Apartment is occupied by architect dad, banker mom and two year old daughter. Large, loftlike living/dining/kitchen space on the first story. Two kids focused rooms (bedroom and connected playroom that contain a twin bed that converts to king, a pack & play crib available on request) and laundry on first story as well. Upstairs is large living/media room, queen sleeping nook (counted as our second bedroom), and outdoor deck with dining and sunchairs. Also access to a newly renovated backyard that is shared by the four apartments in the building. Two notes: the apartment is a walk up, also it is "kid-retrofitted" with a safety features installed along the stair. The apartment has comfortably hosted a family of five on multiple occasions.

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
The neighborhood is littered with buzzy restaurants within walking distance. Saint Anselm, Rye, Fette Sau, Walter's, Samurai Mama, Salt & Charcoal, Zenkichi, Semilla, Baci & Abraci, Chez Omar...
Cool bars
Saint Mazie and Maison Premier are both romantic lookers (music at Mazie is great!), the Commodore is on our block, Raadegast for throwback beer hall
Cozy cafés
We love Baci & Abbracci and Plates et Traditions for cozy cafe vibes
Retail therapy
We are two blocks away from Grand Street with a mix of ecclectic shops (guitar store, ceramics, home goods, paul smith, ice cream). Turn right from Grand and head north on Bedford for more small shops plus the new Whole Foods and Apple Store
Bit of culture
Live music at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Saint Mazie's, or National Sawdust. Hop on the train to Manhattan for MOMA, Met, Guggenheim, opera, etc.
Walks in the park
McCarren Park is .5 miles away with a farmer's market Saturday. Or walk from our house accross the Williamsburg Bridge to the lower east side. Or stroll to the Williamsburg waterfront for fun views, flea markets, and Saturday food festival.
Spot of exercise
Runs in McCarren Park or over the bridge. McCarren park is also home to a huge public swimming pool.
Day tripping
Hudson Valley for the country, the Long Island or New Jersey beaches for sand and sun.
